Bipolar Skin
Ойын-сауық
Winner Audience Prize Cross Connection Choreographic International Competition 2012, (Copenhagen).
Created: February 2012.
Premiere: 6th April 2012.
Choreography: Jorge Garcia Perez.
Dancers: Alba Carbonel Castillo, Jorge Garcia Perez.
Bipolar Skin is about what it is to be a human being, about the difference of expressing when you are alone and when you are with others, the double personality that we have and which makes us change from an state of mind to another very quick.
Even having our natural skin colour sometimes we mix it with the colour of others trying to express that everything is normal but at the end we all have and conserve our unique essence.

I usually get so bored watching dances that have music that doesn't have words, but with this one... WOW. I was held in the whole time. I saw 8 minutes and then the non lyrical music and thought I was going to end up clicking out of the video, but the choreography, the dancers, the lighting... it just all came together so, so well and I almost cried so many times. Every single person that had a part in making this dance are INCREDIBLY talented. Just wow. Thank you so much for this.
The originality of their moves, but also their ability to pull it off so smoothly. I'm at a loss for words. Was not expecting this. I'd love to have Perez & Castillo on my channel! - The Acoustic Rabbit Hole
Being bipolar and finding this dance is amazing. The disorder is so accurately portrayed.

A very moving piece... This is what we call art!
Nice! There were some very beautiful movements during your piece. Flawless!
Very beautiful. Accenture the Endingen. Bipolar does Not mean separaten but same space.
If I didn’t read the title of the video I wouldn’t have understood the beginning or the end (could’ve have guessed, but probably would’ve been wrong) but the middle (& the end since I knew what it was about) was STUNNING!!! I truly do not think that I have ever watched a routine as beautifully raw, tragic & amazing as this piece!! Such outstanding talent. You made me fall in love with dance again. Thank you!!! ❤
This is probably one of the most beautiful pieces I've ever seen.
this so so beautiful. I'm speechless.
seriously great dance. so glad I stumbled on this.
Watched this for like eighth time...i love it even more every time
my tears are flowing
The transitions are what makes works of art great. The transitions in this piece told truths that words can not express. Wonderful
This is such a beautiful and realistic piece. The partnering was seamless, and I was invested in this from beginning to end. Thank you so much for sharing!

Congratulations!Yes,l could identify with this brilliant piece of art which was danced superbly.
So beautiful. Its almost as if both sides are fighting to get out and when one is being felt the other is always in the background waiting. I dont have bipolar so i have no idea if thats by any means accurate its just what i saw.

Refine your abdominal muscles. Abdominal muscles are the key to success. If you have well trained abdominal muscles you can do miracles. Work on your flexibility. Keep your weight on the same level as your dance partner or better on lower level. If you are too heavy you cause too much strain on the spine partner which is definitely bad for him in the long term. Generally think of yourself if you were sportsman not only dancer.
😮❤
Thanks everyone for your comments and feedback... ❤️

Jorge Garcia hi, I'm in one project in my University and this choreography is one of my options to choose and do the "motion analysis" with the LOD (Language Of Dance)... Can I contact you to talk in depth about it? Have a Nice day!

They represent the behaviour of two people when they are alone or when they meet and interact. The bipolarity people have when being alone and how the behaviour adapts when in contact with others changing the personality and body language. Sometimes to make the others like us, love us..

This is named "bipolarity" but it means "duality". This is not the bipolar disorder.

RitishRoy Patroo I think whenever bipolar people are together, they have a special connection, but when they're apart, they go a little crazy. If I am wrong, anyone is welcome to correct me.
