About this video:
This video describes the biomechanics behind a cheerleader doing a jump. There are many nuances that most skip or never knew existed. Learn how rolling the pelvic bone (hips) under will create the look of a hyper extended toe touch. Coaches will see all the different ways that it can be performed. You won't want to miss the jump drills that help the athletes discover the feeling without ever leaving the ground. This is much safer than trying an incorrect toe touch.

How do I apply this technique when I need to clap while I’m bending, be in a high v then circle while I’m jumping? I have amazing splits but my jumps are embarrassingly low & ugly

Sorry this is late but what you need is leg strength! No matter how flexible you are you need to be able to bring your legs up quickly, meaning you need more strength

@@jaymendez4134 I like to stand and kick one of my legs up like in a high kick. I do this both to the front, and to the side as though I was doing a toetouch. They really help

I would too to fix it I had to strengthen my snap back which is your hamstring muscle some drills are raising a leg up then focusing on you hamstring to push it down fast or you can get a partner to hold your leg up with you pushing it down then having them let go

Oh my gosh wow! My coaches always told me that I need to get my chest up/back and I could never do that and now I realize it's because my hips were back. My coaches didn't however, and told me to push my T back behind me causing me to circle my arms and make them become a Y 😂 now I'm going to focus on turning my hips under and swinging my arms straight up thank you so much!
