Wolper's Biography covers the life and career of Eleanor Roosevelt (1884-1962), from childhood to her funeral, all laid out in a concise 26 minutes consisting entirely of newsreel footage and archival photos. Kennedy signing legislation forming the Eleanor Roosevelt Memorial Foundation. Directed by Alan Landsburg. Hosted and Narrated by Mike Wallace. Thank you so much for posting this excellent biography - especially one on such an outstanding person. Many more of these documentaries by David L. Wolper need to be posted. To use a cliché, they don't make them like that anymore. Thanks again.

+Sister Veronica - No they don't, Sister Veronica. Perhaps one day they will again. Yes, Eleanor Roosevelt was an outstanding person. Still is. What an inspiration. They don't make them like that anymore. Perhaps one day they will again. Thank you.

I love biographies by David wolper productions. I love the 100% film and picture footage without talking heads every few moments. They are certainly made well and carefully not thrown together like they are nowadays... You'd think better technology would bring better material but in many ways the old fashioned things are far superior and always will be

John Greene I myself find this is "serious" music I can get sentimental about. I already have "More serious Music Selections - Carl Moore" on Facebook account carl.moore.7792 but am considering a separate page instead for Biography 1961.

As a kid, I watched Biography, either originals or reruns on the weekends. The series theme and the background music is simply wonderful. There were a number of composers apparently involved with this series, who either composed specifically for the show (theme?) or whose music was repurposed. I think Fred Steiner was one of them and Jack Cookerly another. Jack Cookerly was also responsible for some background music in Ren & Stimpy, the music sounds very similar to what we are hearing here in the background. Jack Tillar was music supervisor, but what did that amount to in terms of the compositional themes and orchestrations which are so compellingly beautiful? What does anyone know of the theme composer for this series and the background music? Thx!

This was a 1985 rebroadcast, as the "Kitchens and Bathrooms" ad [11:59] was seen extensively (in New York) during that spring and summer.....

Please explain how the "Vietnam Experience" Time-Life books advertisement came to be included. Is this a rerun of many years later? (Yes, a different comment says this is a 1985 rerun.) Also, in the accompanying text: FDR died in 1945, not 1944.
