The Discovery DLS and BB 2000, both from Bio Bidet - are among the best bidet toilet seats available. The Discovery DLS is the newer of the two models and is a bit more modern. The BB 2000 however, has an established track record and is definitely the favorite of many. In this comparison video, we’ll highlight some of the similarities and differences you’ll find in these two seats.
Design & Aesthetics
First let’s start with the Bio Bidet BB 2000. The BB 2000 has silver trim going across the rear and you can see the black remote sensor receiver on top of the unit. In comparison, the Discovery DLS has an all-white appearance with the Bio Bidet logo centered in the middle.
With the lid down on the BB 2000 you can see it still leaves the seat slightly exposed underneath. On the Discovery DLS however, the lid completely conceals the seat providing a more seamless look with the rest of the toilet.
When sitting side-by-side, the Discovery DLS sits about an inch flatter in comparison. And here’s a side profile of the BB 2000… so you can compare with the Discovery DLS. The low-profile design measures just 4.8 inches tall at its tallest point in the rear, making the Discovery DLS one of the slimmest electronic bidet seats available.
Feature Differences
Now let’s discuss some of the differences between these two seats. First is that the Bio Bidet Discovery DLS has an automatic opening and closing, seat and lid. This is the first Bio Bidet model to offer this feature and it truly is an added convenience.
While the BB 2000 has a slow-closing seat and lid, it does not automatically open and close like the Discovery DLS.
The night light was also implemented differently on these two models. On the BB 2000 the night light was built on to the side of the seat. But with the Discovery DLS it lights inside the toilet bowl. And the light is white instead of blue.
In terms of washing function, the Discovery DLS oscillates the nozzle by default although you can program the BB 2000 to oscillate by default as well.
But there is a slight difference in water volume. The Bio Bidet Discovery DLS has a maximum output of 0.6 liters per minute versus the BB 2000’s 0.7 liters per minute. Here, we’ve activated the oscillation feature on the BB 2000 to compare. Although the difference in water output is small, there is a noticeable difference in oscillation speed.
The Bio Bidet BB 2000 also includes a separate enema function which can be used to help alleviate constipation. The Discovery DLS does not have this feature.
The Discovery DLS does have a UV nozzle sterilization feature however. It uses UV light to sterilize the nozzle every time the nozzle retracts into the seat.
The Discovery DLS also has the strongest air dry fan we’ve ever tested from Bio Bidet, and boasts faster drying times than the BB 2000.
And while you can’t sit on the lid of most other models, the Discovery DLS has a sturdy lid you can sit on too.
But the BB 2000 does have vents for its air-deodorizer function, a feature the Discovery DLS does not have.
Closing Thoughts
The Bio Bidet Discovery DLS and Bio Bidet BB 2000 are both excellent choices and which one you decide on, will come down to which features appeal to you most.
The BB 2000 is known for its exceptional washing performance, and this is the biggest reason to choose this seat. Its higher water output and faster oscillation rate simply translates to a more efficient cleansing. It also has the enema feature included, which some people will find helpful. The BB 2000 has the built-in air deodorizer function which removes odor from the bowl area. And since the BB 2000 has been out for several years, it’s had time to develop a proven history of performance and reliability.
The Discovery DLS still has very good washing performance but it’s a notch below the BB 2000 in this area. However it’s more well-rounded with a richer feature set, and comes in a contemporary, low-profile design. Its automatic open and close, seat and lid help drive a hands-free toileting experience. The UV sterilization feature helps keep the nozzle more sanitary and the upgraded air dry function provides faster drying times. It also includes a sturdy lid you can sit on and some people will find peace of mind in its 5 year warranty period.
