Binomial Distribution EXPLAINED with Examples
Learn how to solve any Binomial Distribution problem in Statistics! In this tutorial, we first explain the concept behind the Binomial Distribution at a high-level. Then we go over the exact conditions necessary to have a Binomial Distribution through an acronym, BINS. Next we cover some key parameters of this distribution like its Mean, Standard Deviation and Probability Formula. Since the probability formula is a little less intuitive than other formulas, we also take it a step further and explain exactly where it comes from and how it works. Finally we wrap things up with a full example to solidify all ideas explained in the video.

love it! thank you! i always find it frustrating when teachers throw weird equations at you and expect to use them without understanding them. you explained them so well that i know feel confident using them as i know what they're for!

This video is 2 years old but still the best to explain binomial then other youtubers
you absolutely killed it. i have my ap stat exam in a few days and i feel confident but this concept i was a little shaky on. this made everything - even the formula - crystal clear!
My first video on this channel, oh my oh my, haven't I enjoyed this. Neat workbook and clear explanations. Thank you
Your videos are really helpful because it also explains each part of the formula unlike others!

Thank you for your videos. They are amazing, and they are easy to follow. Not sure how I would have gotten through these past few weeks of biostatistics w/o your assistance.
Thank you so much for this. Preparing for an exam!!!
Hi, I've watched several videos of yours and I find them helpful, and I thank you for that. I just wanted to let you know that your brief explanations by visualizing the concept using drawing and all, are on point since I am a visual learner kinda person. However, I came across some of your videos that happened to have a lower volume than the others, so I hope you wouldn't mind resolving this issue. Again, thank you, you've done a great job! Already subscribed tho! LOL
The BEST video on KZread for binomial distribution ❤. Thanks a LOT!!!!!

Jesus, this formula for Binomials is so much easier to comprehend than what my professor taught us! It's the same math, but the notation and format you use makes much more sense. In my class, the formula is "P(x)= nCx π x (1-π) n-x." I never fully understood the variables until your explanation. Thanks!
Wow. Quite an explanation. Thank you a lot

what you showed is where the order matters, so shouldn't you use a permutation and not a combination?
Also make videos on Poisson, multinomial and normal distribution in probability
thank you for saving me

Thank YOU for supporting me!
Good job
Why is the formula for combination used as opposed to permutation?
@AceTutors1
Жыл бұрын
Great question! So we are ultimately using the combination formula within the probability formula because order does not matter for the successes. For example, if we were to try to calculate the probability of getting 1 failures and 2 successes, we would not want to treat getting 2 successes then 1 failure as 2 separate situations. There is ultimately no difference between one success and another. If we used the permutation formula, we would get 6 total options, but this we would only want to get three: success-success-failure, success-failure-success and failure-success-success. I hope this helps
maan... We would do this math in 6th grade in Turkey. In Vancouver, 6th graders were learning -6+4 and did not even go over this math in highschool. Feeling like my highschool was wasted on repetition of the kind of math that I knew. E hardly went over the entry level to the differential math in grade 12. The result is. I study to be a designer and now try to remember physics and build on math myself to develop structural engineering in my own time and find myself at statistics equations and get shockked even more about the fact that what we called in 6th grade was what people call statistics. It takes a room of fools to close schools that prioritize the future and loving nature of students towards learning. Another weird thing, their graduates can't even find jobs. Wasted. No matter if it is a transition from highschool to university or moving abroad, I wish an easy transition for every one. Keep on loving learning, kiddos.
very helpful🥰🥰🥰
Very nice explanation! I reproduced your results using Python. I also tried to solve the "Birthday Problem/Paradox" that you may be familiar with (otherwise see Wikipedia) using the equation that you've demonstrated. My inputs were: n=23, p=1/365, q=1-365 and x=2 and a P(X=2) = 0.00179. Other workers report the answer as 0.5005. Is the Binomial distribution inappropriate for solving the Birthday Problem?

Hi. Great video. I had a quick question. Anyone who has an idea can help out. I understood that P(X=x) = (nCx)p^xq^n-x. What about something like P(X=x^2) ? i.e P(X=f(x)) where f(x) is a function of x ?
how did you get 0.1157? I tried punching that into my calculator and get 0.13888444

Great question! It seems like you may not have squared the 5/6. Try entering 6 * 1/6 * 1/6 * 5/6 * 5/6 and see if you get the right answer. I hope this helps!
where did the 5/6 came from?
how do you find q? This video is really helpful, but the Q part is confusing.
