Binding a floor mat - Car upholstery

Floor mats are useful for car floors and homes' indoors and outdoors. I decided to make several of them by using trunk carpet which is sturdier than regular car floor carpets. To add more resistance I added/glued down over a layer of non-slip plastic on the backside. Regularly, floor mats have a binding all around their edges. The binding is a trim that finishes the edges adding more resistance and giving a better view to the item.
To do the binding I have used a homemade binding attachment. It is a rough accessory still on test. Albeit with some difficulties but it became very useful to bind the mat edges all around. I need to improve the binding attachment to make the process faster and easier. As soon as I manufacture a good one I will post a related video.

I tried to improve a binding device I made before, but I did not like the outcome. I understand this mechanism works out but I have found some inconveniences. Ever had the lighter accidently light more than the thread on fire? I don't think I'd bring myself to do it that way. Haha!

Estoy tratando de mejorar un modelo anterior. Es un prototipo rústico que he fabricado. It is a non-slip plastic for car floor mats. I got it from a plastics' store or local supplier here in Mexico.

A non-slip rubber material is useful on the reverse side. It should be attached to the reverse side of diamond stitched panel that would go on top view. kzread.info/dash/bejne/aYuDo66EnprVXZs.htmlfeature=shared&t=60

I use the Pfaff 1245-706 If you are going to manufacture carpet mats I would recommend you a Pfaff 335 (new or old version) which was especially designed for that purpose. it already has the binding accesory.www.pfaff-industrial.com/en/portfolio/sewing-machines/cylinder-arm/pfaff-335-17-mit-einfasser
consulta, como se podria hacer esta alfombrilla, pero con la goma antideslizante???

La goma antideslizante se tendria que pegar a la alfombra por el revés. El siguiente paso sería coser el ribete alrededor del borde de la pieza de alfombra incluyendo el amterial antideslizante que se pegó prebviamente.

The attachment is called 'binding attachment, The one of the video is custom made. You could find a good one on internet.
