    Well done, bushes aren’t the easiest without an air chisel to replace. Van is looking much better. Hope you got the missis flowers 💐 for her efforts lol 👍

    Thanks. Yeah I used to do them with a press when I was on the tools back in the day, I’m not in a hurry to do them again that’s for sure. Haha thats a no on the flowers though🙈

    It’s definitely taken longer than it should due to realising I haven’t the right tools after starting lol. What also adds quite a lot of time is actually filming it 🙈

    @@retromechanic2238 Not a job I fancy doing again in a hurry without a hydraulic press lol. The ride is quite firm but not too firm, can be hard over bumps but I think its more of a case the roads are the issue in this country not the suspension because on a nice road it feels great. The steering feels much more on point with them bushes, I’m hoping my tyres wear a bit better now……..only time will tell! Thanks for watching!

    Good video mate 👍 my mot runs out this week and have a feeling I’ll be changing the same bushes and drop link. Not sure if you have one or not but I’d definitely recommend getting a impact gun, I bought a little 18v 5ah makita one, make my life so much easier when doing things like this, although after watching this I think I’ll take mine somewhere to get changed 😂😂

    Thanks buddy. I had considered getting one but didn’t think it would get enough use to justify the cost. The uprated bushes made a hell of a difference to how tight the van feels on the road though. You should attempt it yourself mate as its content for your channel 😛

    Good idea about the WD, I’d go as far as getting a spanner on them every 6 months, least you can always resell them, whereas I should have checked beforehand, never mind, I’m happy with the results, Atb mate

  • @johnbyrne1038

    I'd strongly advise anyone adding adjustable coil overs to grease all threads and run adjuster bolts up and down once. This will stop them seizing up should you want to change heights in 6 months, tbh if I was anal enough I'd grease proof paper them and cable tie it on to preserve its longevity. Trust me once that aluminium is siezed you'll never move them. I'm ripping off stance kit in two week time as I can't raise them to make my ride softer

  • @vwtransportersandmotorcycl3729

    @vwtransportersandmotorcycl3729

    Thanks for the comment Glen. Some key fundamental for tyre wear is correct pressures and wheel alignment. If they have been checked then maybe the bushes on the lower arm, especially that big rear one. Do you know the history of the vehicle, for example has it been in a small accident where potentially something is bent maybe? Defo get the alignment checked though, hope that helps somewhat.

    @@stripfix1979 another problem with that is that garages don’t know what tolerance’s to align wheels to as the settings are for a factory set up on the standard wheel sizes 🙈

    How’s it going with the B14’s? I’ve got to have new top mounts so I thought, may as well change out the suspension, almost the labour, so I’m having some Komforts installed, then wheels within the next few months. Hoping for great improvements🙏

    Im not overly impressed if I’m honest. It handles great but very crashy. I dont think its a bad product and was comfy enough on the continent this summer, I think its more of a case of our shitty potholed roads in the UK not a good match. I regret not splashing out a bit extra and getting the comforts! Let us know how you get on. Would be worth changing your top mounts anyway saves having to pull everything off at a later date. Let us know how they are mate

     Just to let you know I’ve had the Komforts fitted, very happy with them, firm but not what I’d call crashy. Unfortunately because they were second hand, the adjustable collars were seized, I only managed to free one of the rear ones. So they are all set at the lowest setting, I also had machined top mounts and smaller bump stops fitted, when I got it back I noticed the writing on the front springs were not facing towards the wheel, THQ say they should or you get knocking. The ride is good, fortunately where their sitting is just right, at the moment the van is empty so when I start loading it up I might have to buy one adjuster for the back to raise it a bit. Some of the good ride might be my tyres, still got the originals on 206 65 16, so when I get new ones the ride may suffer a bit, but for now I’m a happy bunny 😂

    @@colinhill6287 Great news matey, but crap to hear about the adjuster but hopefully thats not to expensive. Funny you should mention that it was seized as that popped into my head the other day and so I went out and sprayed them with WD40 to try stop exactly that 😂

    Hi the ride is stiff but not overly compared to cheaper coilover i had on in the past! The van does now feel tight with the new bushes and knocking gone. Its a compromise with suspension when lowering vans, however in hindsight i wonder if spending an extra £300 for the B14 comfort suspension might of been better🤔
