@@JuliaLives1111 it is! Kind of what makes us unique. Just an FYI if you already didn't know, Biloxi was the name of the native tribe that inhabited the area when the French arrived. Next time you're here you should definitely check out Ship Island. The water is more like Gulf Shores.

I was here several years ago with my kids, it was a spur of the moment decision to visit, as we were in a semi truck with their dad when he was driving and he was stuck for a weekend at a truck stop further up into the state. So, instead of sitting with two kids at a truck stop for two whole days, we drove down to Biloxi. It was surprisingly beautiful and so charming. I would love to go back one day....

@@tmart3381 well there is Gulfport, a great area to live but comes with lots of ghetto areas if u plan on living in the downtown area, ocean springs is small but nice, Biloxi has expensive houses but most of those are nice as well. If u like living in the country/ like having lots of privacy or if ur planning on being a framer I’d recommend Wiggins. I’ve heard great things about Hattiesburg as well. Definently don’t recommend Jackson. Bay St. Louis is where a lot of rich people live and it’s beautiful as well. As far as careers we have lots of good paying jobs but nothing crazy for the most part. And anything other than south Mississppi, ur gonna have to research yourself, but the small cities I recommend are Wiggins or ocean springs. Ask me for any more questions if u want

3:01/ ...a good majority of those "picnics" are homeless ppl and their camps. I'm from Biloxi , so don't go over there. Lots of potholes can mess your car up there too. That spot used to be where The President Casino was before Hurricane Katrina destroyed it. Wear flip flops or some foot protection because you never know what you'll find in the sand. The water is prettier on the south side of Ship Island . Everything is overpriced that you have to rent. Fun stuff for the kids at intersection of Veterans Blvd and Beach Blvd -( Hwy 90 ) and New Orleans is about and hour and a half from here. Oh, the sunrises and sunsets are beautiful. Wear lots of ocean friendly sunscreen or you will burn - it's a hot and humid heat here. Lots of seafood resturants ......Oh yeah, and casinos. That's about it.

Um. They don't let the homeless "camp" on the beach. They don't even let you overnight park unless your in Longbeach. Btw. Why would you want to kill the tourism for your own town? Its the tourist that help keep most of the businesses open on the beach. I'm sure the people that work there would appreciate your support in encouraging out of towners, not discouraging them. JS. Not to mention, everywhere you go, you will find a "shader" side of life. It's not like Biloxi is anything unusual. And most of our homeless community still are southern gentlemen and women. I own a business just north of the Beau, in downtown. Never had a homeless person give us any problems. And it's not like we have an abundance of them. It's a rather small community compared to most cities that have 24/7 life. How about doing things a little differently and take a look at the bright side. Spread the good news about your home. Local businesses, like ours, would appreciate it and so would our employees that have families to feed. I thought it was a great video and I appreciate the time she took to bring some positive attention to our town. We always appreciate our out of town guests. Thanks for visiting to those that have. Not everyone feels bitter here. Its actually pretty rare. Thank goodness kindness and positivity are more the norm here.

@@tamaralafontaine7271 Yes, they do let the homeless sleep overnight at the beach in Biloxi. They sleep on benches. Some have carts, some don't. And they let them sleep in the cars overnight too. City police leave them alone. I see it all the time. Of course , I don't spend a lot of time in Long Beach, but Biloxi allows it.

  • @janetfayard672

@@tamaralafontaine7271 Why would you not want tourists to know the truth? I didn't say anything negative about Long Beach. I also stated that there were wonderful spots along the coast in various cities. However, the area where the President Casino was located is mostly a homeless camp. Just goes to prove that some locals care so much about $, they can't even tell the truth! Also , the tourist industry has no affect on me or my life and wouldn't diminish if they all disappeared. I like meeting ppl from other places so thankfully I have traveled the US! So before you respond with a self-rightous rant about how great this place is, know that you will be wasting your time responding. I was born here and have lived here long enough to know what is great and not great about this place. Also if you respond, know that I won't bother to read it. Just gotta love those french though🤣
