That's one thing i've always liked about Billy Talent. The fact that they always keep that Billy Talent sound. Something a lot of other bands i've loved tend to change over time. I'm all for bands changing and evolving their sound, but there are ways to do that without completely changing the genre and sounding like every other group on the radio. Billy Talent is proof of that!

But I don't really agree it's just Ben who makes the Billy Talent Sound. It's the whole band, their whole style and vibe is recognizable in all their music. They write, record and produce all their songs on their own. They are also been together as a band for quite a long time and know that it's the 4 of them together who form the band. I can't find it right now but there's an interview where Ben, the lead singer tells that if one of them decide's too quite the band the won't continu under the name 'Billy Talent' cause Billy Talent is who they are with this line up and if that would change, so would the sound and the band. Now as I mention in my other comment; It is possible that on drums someone else is (temporary) filling in for Aaron. Reason for this is cause he has MS, and due to this during the previous album he could play the drums for the recording or on the tour. Here Aaron made clear that he wanted the guys to continue and to not hold the album as he didn't knew when he could get back behind the drums again. So here they got a good friend of the whole band: Jordan from Alexis on Fire to temporary fill in on the drums.

Javier Belmer well the message is more about not acting like that and actually being an adult. There are also themes of not taking everything at face value and thinking for yourself. It’s maybe more of something people today need to hear than it is a message to the masses.

Bro try being Canadian. On top of COVID, BLM riots, and everything going on in the states we’ve had largest mass shooting in Canada’s history, all with illegal, unmarked weapons. So naturally our Prime Minister banned 305 types of firearms, non of which were used by the shooter. Now more recently the PM threw a “charity” for people who’ve lost their jobs due to COVID. He then embezzled 50% of the money raised, and when he was caught and an investigation began he dissolved parliament till October, effectively ending the investigation till then.

Notice the camera slowly zooming in more and more to the TV screen. Perspective starts behind the family's heads, and finishes taking up the whole screen without us realizing. A metaphor of how easily we get roped into the media and our phones. Gets you to realize that your peripheral vision just melts when we focus on our TV, phone, and computer screens. Love the last scene adding to the metaphor of something along the lines of "Wake up" and "Fuck the media".

I love when a band has an unic, distinct and irreplicable sound that stays in every record even if the band matures his sound. And thats exactly why I love Billy Talent.

Billy Talent are completely unique. Their subject matter for songs is very rarely about love/relationships but when it is they nail it. But, they are lyrically and musically, easily one of the greatest rock bands of the 21sr Century

[Intro: Ben Kowalewicz] C'mon! [Verse 1: Ben Kowalewicz] Stuck in a crisis Without a conscience Trapped in a place we don't belong There's no more heroes Left to believe in They've pushed our backs against the wall [Bridge: Ben Kowalewicz] I know that something has to change We got lost along the way Your thoughts and prayers can't fix the pain 'Cause we're falling down again [Verse 2: Ben Kowalewicz] Crooks and deceivers Misled believers A world where decency is gone Chaotic flashes Of huddled masses Stare down the barrel of the gun [Bridge: Ben Kowalewicz] I know that something has to change We got lost along the way Your thoughts and prayers can't fix the pain 'Cause we're falling down again [Chorus: Ben Kowalewicz with Ian D'Sa] Live in a reckless paradise The house is burning, trapped inside A reckless paradise The wheels are turning truth to lies In reckless paradise Could cut the tension with a knife In reckless paradise It's up to us to read between the lines [Post-Chorus: Ben Kowalewicz] Your thoughts and prayers can't fix the pain 'Cause we're falling down again [Chorus: Ben Kowalewicz with Ian D'Sa] Reckless paradise The house is burning, trapped inside A reckless paradise The wheels are turning truth to lies In reckless paradise Could cut the tension with a knife In reckless paradise It's up to us to read between the lines [Post-Chorus: Ben Kowalewicz] Your thoughts and prayers can't fix the pain 'Cause we're falling down again [Outro: Ben Kowalewicz] Hey!
