Best era of Billy Talent was when everyone was screaming all the time.
This is how a good concert goes
What I would give to be able to see Billy Talent in this era, the energy is just different when the band is in their late 20s, vs early 40s. That being said, they're still awesome live, and making great music.

I saw Billy talent live for the first time in Jan of '03 just after Try honesty was released on Much music, They were doing their first Tour starting in Ontario playing College/University campuses. The show I was at was still in their first couple of that tour and only like 50 ppl showed up but Try Honesty hadn't been out that long, Thankfully the 50 or so of us knew The band and all the songs from the album and they put on one hell of a show for us. At that time you could still stand right infront of them with no barrier Ben letting us scream and sing into the mic with him 🖤 They sound perfect live and lots of energy, Pretty much how they are now. I've seen them 4 more times, Thankfully when they came back here in the summer of '03 my city gave them the welcome they deserved, Sold out outdoor festival with them head lining. I knew from that first show they were going to be Big
Something about this performance had magic so aggressive and in your face especially standing in the rain its almost like a new song. Fucking epic in other words.

I guess that starts to go away with age and success. I think they are still great live, but you wouldn't get a performance like this.
that ending on prisoners of today was unexpected. EPIC show.
Crazy. I was the “Fan Cam Jonathon” in this. Went to see Alexisonfire but knew of these guys. Won this access and the camera because I knew where the name came from. Great show.

Of all the shows that happened that i never saw I would probably see this one if i could go back

Harry Styles was in love with them that time... OMFG

Isn't it strange how the quality of Billy Talent concerts doesn't have a specific pattern? At first, I thought Ben was definitely better today since he longer sings false like he did around 2008, but then I see this amazing show full of energy and great vocals and I just become really confused. I guess the third and fourth album was when Ben was at his worse, but even then, this era still had awesome performences.

I'd say he's gotten better at singing but worse at screaming over time

what do you mean by "sings false"?
I like how they were like let’s be punk but no power chords
When i see this im so happy to be born in this generation ^^. Sometimes my tears fall apart, when I remember how the feeling was to hear them for the first time. And Bens hair too haha.

I saw them on the first tour with Metric and Death From Above 1979 - seeing Billy Talent at that time was only comparable to witnessing an hour long explosion. I got a minor concussion that night but it was well worth it!
OMG! Ian is very thin here haha

Why is Ian playing a telecaster, then playing a Stratocaster? I thought all billy talent songs were in drop D. Why would he need to switch guitars?
@Himihan
7 жыл бұрын
My guess would be he didn't want to tune, so he just switched to a properly tuned guitar. Also might be because he wanted a different sound for a particular song.
