@@vexxama Considering that all it takes to be qualified as a level 4 is a sidekick who knows some martial arts and a tranq gun, I'd say you're spot on. As far as I remember, St. Cloud is the only level 1 we've seen, and he legitimately got his ass beaten like a bongo drum by a very elderly woman with arthritis. Level 2 is probably what you get once you become capable of successfully leaving a bruise on someone without injuring yourself in the process.

She plays these skills at fighting off to Billy by claiming she used to be "a professional dancer"

Level 1 arching. A non violent confrontation between antagonist and protagonist that goes as far as a session of d&d or trivia to solve said confrontation. At least that's how I describe it.

@@blackdemonknight Saint Cloud is a 1, by modern show standards Turnbuckle might be a 2 or 3. I don't even think that the OSI even sends a single agent if it isn't up to a 5, and I mean the grunt agents not specialists like Brock, Shoreleave or even Hatred.

Well level 3 is on par with a dentist assuming there are no soldiers or fighters in the office (militates have good dental and fighters get there teeth wrecked a lot) so I think level 1 is like knocking on your door are running away before they open it.

Brock actually did caulk someone to death, it was s2 ep2 "Hate Floats" , he shot the caulk into the stomach of one of the Monarch's gangster henchmen and it blew out all his orifices.

Fun fact, Doc mentioned that it's "a boilerplate Arching threat" and Billy mentions disemboweling? Well, for those who don't know, boilerplate is a term used for standardized texts or clauses used in contracts and such...the Guild probably just make a template Arch threat and fill in the blanks for specific levels...in other words, no matter what level the Arch is, it will always mention the disemboweling part..and "WELCOME TO YOUR DEMISE"

In another episode, the Monarch's Wife explained that lvl 1 is just a guy who looks bad. And lvl 10 is like a Monarch having a cocoon and an army of henchmen, although I do think that that was bs. Because... Monarch in the previous seasons was no way near level 10.

Well Wes Warhammer was a level 10 but he didn't seem that dangerous, although I guess he had Theft, Mental Abuse, and maybe public humiliation down pretty well.

Monarch (Unpowered, de-armyed, sans flying fortress/car, BUT packing both diabolical plots and a legit badass henchman) counted as a Level 4. It was considered a massive amount of overkill when a Level 5 arching resulted in the leveling of a city block, while a lightning gun set to Level 6 was able to do some serious damage to a high rise building. And we can see easily what Level 10s are like. Consequently, my theoretical list of Arching Levels: Level 1: Quizboy v St. Cloud. ...What d'you want, an asprin? Level 2: Turnbuckle. Average people doing arching stuff. Probably no powers, just HAAAATE. Level 3: Low-rent Crime Hour. MAYBE a useless power is in the mix, or a guy jacked from the gym. Level 4: Broke-Ass Monarch. People can die, shit can happen, but it's still very personal. Level 5: Red Mantle/Dragoon. Resources start coming into play, but folks are still relatively weak. Level 6: Doctor Z nowadays. Super Tech is in the mix, people getting tossed across town in super slapfights. Level 7: Vendata. Past this point, everyone has their shit together. Lotta hench, lotta blood. Level 8: Sgt. Hatred. Small armies and genuine superpowers/suits are a requirement. Come to play. Level 9: The Uncrowned Kings, basically anyone with the chops to play with the best... Just haven't DONE it yet. Level 10: The Real Deal. Honest to goodness superheroes and supervillains, without exception. Runs this shit.

I mean if you want any more proof that it's a rusty, he just worded I brought a half a dozen donuts and three of them are mine in the most selfish way. Still a nice gesture. Crawlers are pretty big and I doubt Billy can eat two.

This was one of my favorite episodes of The Venture Bros. The “battle” with St.Cloud (and it’s aftermath) was hysterical, and totally “Venture”-worthy.

An internet troll can be anything from Level 1 to Level 4, remarkably. It's largely based on their dedication of hatred, their resources and the amount of emotional/mental anguish they intend to inflict. Actively going to great lengths to run someone's life into the ground, drive everyone they know away from them and push them over the edge of suicide is pretty tangible Arching.

There's 10 levels of arching. Level 1 isn't just formally hating someone, it's basically trying to intimidate them and hurt them, but typically are either very new, or very, very incompetent. Usually the latter. Weaponry used is strictly non lethal, if used at all, and any powers are either just being discovered... or just don't exist Level 2 and 3 are of a similar sort of threat, but are actually capable of doing something/have actually done something. Typically a level 2 or 3 have some actual gimmick, and are actually managing to get their shit together. I believe Brick Frog might actually be a level 2 or 3. Yes really. Brick Frog. Weaponry is still strictly non lethal... Well, unless it's an actual superpower... or a brick. Level 4 and 5 are actually competent super villains who know how to intimidate, know how to arch properly, potentially have some henchmen, or are actually super powered with something actually decent. Monarch is/was level 5, despite only having Henchman 21 and some basic equipment, and not just because of his wife, but because of his long history, his flair for the dramatic, very solid theme, and his consistent equipment use. Lethal equipment is potentially allowed, but only in extreme circumstances or for dramatic effect. Bricks are a no go. Level 6 and 7 is where things start to get serious. A lot of super powered villains are around this level, even if they don't do a lot. Lethal equipment is used around this level. Firearms, far more dangerous elemental weaponry (like the lightning gun St Cloud was "accidentally" given), and fights between level 6-7 people usually end with cleanup needed. However, at this level, professionalism is a requirement. Since a person would be more powerful than average, as well as whoever they are fighting, there has to be a code of conduct to prevent civilian casualties. Typically speaking non lethal weapons are still used around this level, but lethality is now a proper risk. Not just that, but a level 6 or seven can be paired against heros higher in rank than them, since they have shown they can handle themselves. Level 8 is similar to level 6 and 7, but better equipped, better versed, and are way more famous. A level 8 also can be matched with people above their level (level 9-10) as the only real way to move up would be to prove that they are capable of fighting against people considered more powerful than them. Level 9 is super serious shit. There ain't no bricks at level 9, and level 9 villains are already considered famous by their own rights. They have gone up against the best, and regardless of whether they won or lost, they have serious reputation backing them. Typically, a level 9 is either very powerful in terms of abilities, or have their own armies to fight their own battles. This is where the Monarch was before his cocoon was destroyed, his house burned down, and his trust fund ran out. Large army, huge amount of resources, powerful sidekicks/partners, and were highly respected through the guild... usually. Level 10, interestingly, goes two directions. One path of level 10 is legendary status enemies, people that could have (or actually had) actually fought against Jonas Venture Sr, and held their ground, surviving multiple times or even winning a victory or two. This is where people like Red Death, Phantom Limb or Red Mantle (at his prime) sit. The other path is wealth beyond wealth, commanding their own private armies of other supervillians underneath them, wielding influence and power like it was nothing. Normal henchmen aren't just run of the mill thugs, but highly trained soldiers. This is where Wide Wale, the Doom Factory, or Monstroso (when he was alive) sat. Bloody hell this was more than I intended to write up, but I believe this is accurate based on what I've seen in the show.

@@TheLichruler Dr. Ivo Robotnic (SatAM version) would be an easy level 10 antagonist, having literally conquered the world before the series even started while his other variants (Adventures, Underground, X and Boom) would be level 5 at best. Sonic would be of similar protagonist level (depending on series) for his sheer speed and his ability to buzzsaw through metal. While all of the Sonic variants share speed ability, his combat potential tends to only go as far as it needs to against the Eggman he's fighting. In short, if Eggman is more of a buffoon than a threat, then Sonic is going to be less of a threat back. Bowser would also be a level 10 antagonist in terms of raw magical power (necromancy included), fire breathing and brute force. This doesn't even begin to account for his kingdom, vast army of minions, and his children that serve as his generals. In contrast, Mario, in regard to his natural abilities, would be a level 3 protagonist at best. Mario does gain abilities during his adventures, but these are more situational and accidental and are treated as temporary get-out-of-jail free cards when he loses them. Mario could still triumph through seer tenacity if he didn't have his happenstance powerups, but it would be extremely difficult for him. Mario's only legit power is he can breathe underwater (if he doesn't have a health meter). The Mario Brothers are both level 10 protagonists through reputation, not power. Dr. Albert Wily would be a level 9 antagonist for his legion of robot masters alone. His Skull Fortress and army of robots are just icing on the cake. It is unclear where Wily gets his resources and finances, but he only falls shy of Robotnik and Bowser due to worldwide influence of power, or his lack thereof. Mega Man is a level 9, borderline level 10 protagonist. He is a one-bot-army. His chargeable buster cannon is second in power only to Proto Man, and his ability to copy the weaponry of defeated robot masters means he only becomes more of a headache for Wily as Wily throws more bots at him. And don't forget about Rush.

Sigh.... Venture Bros getting the axe sucks. Hope someone picks it up for another season. Where things were left off well... They could end there I suppose but I would love to see how things go with Hank. Hell the Monarch & Doc as well, even Dean. The point is the Venture Brothers was great. With some modern shows I get bored. There is no character growth much anymore. Rick and Morty has some, but for the most part its like everyone is frozen in time. That's what I liked about the venture brothers. The characters grew. Changed. Altered. Stayed the same but became more. Some shows do this better than others and all shows attempt it but Venture bros honestly did it much better than most.

HBO Max is apparently in talks about reviving it. It sounds like Adult Swim cancelled them but still wants to make money off of them though, so it's slow going. Adult Swim are jacka$$es. They did the same thing Metalocalpyse. They gave them the axe, and then refused to allow them to finish the story.

I wish we had this kind of stuff irl. I'd totally be a level 1 or 2 bad guy.
