The concern with some of these bills is that they limit the appearance of drag performances in public spaces on the basis that a child COULD be there. I don't think a drag performance group that has sexual themes has ever targeted a child audience. It's basic common sense that parents shouldn't take their children to cabaret or strip clubs or drag shows with adult themes, none of these things have ever had to be explicitly said, but I think this bill was inspired by the idea that conservatives don't want a new generation that's exposed to the LGBTQ community early on and that speaks to the ban on discourse about homosexuality in Florida public schools.

Number one killer of children are not guns that’s a flat out lie. #1 killer for kids between the ages of 1 to 4 is car accidents followed by accidental drownings. #1 killer of kids between the ages of 5 to 17 is cancer followed by car accidents. He was parroting a talking point that included 18 and 19 years olds neither of which are a child. So once again this awful show is leading the way with misinformation.

Drag is a mockery of women, not an art form. It's like minstrel blackface. How these women can defend this insanity tells you all you need to know about them.

Omg, they’re nuts. Florida is not trying to shut down drags shows. I just went to one a couple weeks back, had a blast with my friends. We are adults, it is adult entertainment. It’s not for children, full stop! The shows are edgy and sexual in natural, again for an adult audience, not for children. Why is this concept so difficult to understand? I grew up in Florida. I was not exposed to sexuality/gender themes in elementary school at all. In middle school, a male friend came out to me and a few of his closest friends. We all supported him. One of my best friends in high school was a flamboyant gay guy. My first drag show was in college. I consider myself an ally of the community, but I don't support young elementary school kids being exposed to this stuff, IMO. It's too young and a form of indoctrination. FWIW I don't support religion in schools either. Let kids be kids. They won't be intolerant of trans and gay people if they learn about it when they're a bit older. Same for race. Kids don't naturally see racial differences, and we shouldn't force adult perspectives on them. All you have to do is teach kids to love and respect themselves and each other and accept everyone's differences. That's all you need. My two cents.

I've never heard of this person Billy, I tend to stay clear of anyone who supports the grooming of kids. I'm not even sure how this video ended up in my recommedations. I am not sure where Billy is getting his stats because he's way off, then again he could by lying on purpose. As a man i will say this, when i saw what was going i said why would you take a child to an area where you don't want to them to see. The gay community has been targeted for many years and still fighting. In NYC grown folk burning gay flags not cool at all. It’s kind of disgusting that Billy points out the death by firearms to children and talks about how wrong it is that that isn’t addressed……yet in the very next sentence condones the death of the young by defending murder when talking about Roe V Wade.If Billy cares about hun control so much,maybe he should be looking to the community leaders that run cities with high crime rates.Maybe he should be reaching out to those in the black communities and help the young kids stray away from a life a crime.

I wish they also had professional men and women on to discuss lgbt+ issues. More outrageous folks are fine but they scare people in the Midwest and other less populated areas.

One last comment about Billy Porter, and I'm definitely done. I Realize for some people he can be off putting by way he is (dresses/acts). Doesn't bother me because he's talent can back it up. A commentator asked me what he is he talented at? I will admit I was defensive in my own reply to the question. And I shouldn't have. Love not Hate. So, here are the facts/not my opinion; He was on Star Search (remember that talent show? ) back in 92 w/ Britney Spears who was also competing. However, he won and went home w/$100,000. He's won two Tony Awards, a Grammy Award, a Primetime Emmy Award for best actor in a drama series, nominated for three Golden Globe Awards. He's won numerous other awards. He's has a film coming out in which he makes his directorial debut. This is just a short list to his many accomplishments in the entertainment industry. Side note: In 2020 he was on Time Magazine list - the 100 most influential people in the world. So, I ask this question. What are you doing to achieve your own greatness in this world? Let's not hate/judge people who may/may not look, act, talk or dress the way you or I do. Instead, be Inspired by him. Or any anyone who is living (in) their dreams. Use it to make your own dreams a reality. It's not just for him. It's for everyone who believes and puts in the work. Much happiness and success to you all. You got this. Stay away from dream killers. Always be a dream believer 😇!
