Billy Ocean, brother had that "golden voice" I tells ya! Surprised this was a first-time reaction for you two because this is one of those 80's staples you just couldn't get away from since the moment it first dropped 35 years ago. As for the sound, it falls loosely between Dance, Pop, and R&B and that righteous sax solo was more or less the norm for that time period as well. As an early-80s baby myself, it's the one part of that decade that still hits hardest for me. The music was just so electric back then, both literally and figuratively. Even though Ocean blew up pretty big during that decade, you should definitely react to his earlier 70s material where you can just sense that he was gonna be a huge star eventually once that voice of his went to work. I recommend 'Stop Me (If you Heard It All Before)', 'Red Light Spells Danger', and 'Love Really Hurts Without You' for starters. Thank goodness he's still with us today and with that voice almost completely intact, too... ;-D

No sir, Billy Ocean is Trinidadian He was born and still nowadays lives on the twin islands of Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean

@@nyrongayah3640 Actually he's both, Trinidadian-British. Born in Trinidad, and moved to England when he was a boy. He grew up in London, and was a tailor at Londons Saville Row before making it as a musician. He's lived in Sunningdale, Berkshire, England Since the mid to late 70's with his wife. It took me 5 minutes to look this up on his personal biography.
