My mother listened to this song when I was a kid. I never liked it then, but now I’m 21, and I’ve been listening to it for a while now. It just has different meaning now, and my brain is different than it was back then. Truly an amazing song.

During my internship as a college student, I used to go to a small Coffee restaurant during breaks. It was basically a Barista Station with 3 employees. There was this girl. She was one of the 2 baristas. She would often greet me with a gentle smile, while she cracked a big customer friendly one for everyone else. But for some reason, whenever she gently smiled at me, her eyes used to light up like the night sky. It was almost as if you could peer into a whole entire universe just by glancing in her eyes. It was a strange feeling. Her eyes seemed like they are basically confessing their love for me, not necessarily romantic love. Now that I think of it, she seemed rather gloomy while not serving customers. We used to chat up a little, or a lot, or none at all. Depending upon her mood. Slowly, we bonded much more and I often deliberately went there right after the lunch break, because that’s when they were the most free from tending to customers. I remember once she made a sandwich for me. It was nothing special. But she offered it to me. It was nothing special in terms of flavour, but it tasted like it was made with love. We never touched up into each other’s personal lives too much. I didn’t even ask her age, although she definitely seemed at least a decade older than me at the time. My internship there ended sometime later. That place was far asf from my place, so I didn’t bother to go there unless absolutely necessary. I wanted to exchange each other’s social media’s or something. But she conveniently didn’t show up on my last day. She never took leaves during my time there. I decided to let go of that as nothing but a somewhat cherishing memory. I have no clue where she is. But wherever she is, I hope she is happy. This song reminds me of her. I’m her extremely tidy and neat uniform, with frizzy hair and full lips. Peering into my soul with nothing but love in her eyes. The way she left everything to prepare my coffee/tea by hand, the feeling of her unbelievably soft hands like fluffy clouds.
