Same, back in the 8th grade I remember a girl that I was friends with she was a poor soul; she was one of those people that wanted to "die" and I was somewhat friends with her and; to cut the story short she got ran over by a mini-van and die in the hospital (I don't remember) I didn't cry about it but, I want to and my head get over it and I did; kinda or I would not be writing this lol [true story]

Music exists outside of time. An act could come along that writes brand new stuff in the New Wave style of the 80s and it would be new music. Or big band stuff from the 40s. Or baroque from the 18th century. That's what's great about music.

I was active-duty USAF and stationed in California as a young man. This was but a small taste of the music that was hitting and it defines some of the very best years of my life. Tears for fears, Billy Idol, Inxs, all transport me back like a time machine. How bloody excellent!
This is a trip back to the 80s. The golden age of music. ✨❤️
I was a sophomore in high school and my grandfather had just died. I remember my father and all of the adults sitting around talking. I went out to my father's car to listen to the radio. As I was searching for something to listen to, this song came on. From the very first note, I was in love with it. Songs like this are beautiful, bittersweet nostalgia.

You need to learn how to embrace every day as the gift it actually is. Make the best of it. Be the best yourself you can possibly be. Remember you're unique. Growing older is perfectly normal. Death is just a new beginning. You've just realized your childhood is over. Adulthood is the next step. Wich is freedom. To explore the world. Hopefully enjoying good health... This reminds me of my friend Suzanne, she was my childhood best friend from the 80’s. She was a beautiful browned hair girl, with brown eyes. Pictures didn’t do her justice. We had so much fun together, and she was a stand up girl. Something I never was, and I looked up to her and felt safe around her. We got baptized together in the summer of 1988, I went right after her. And sadly, she was taken from this world on January 1, 2020 with her boyfriend she had been with for about 6 months. I just found this out on Jan 1 of this year. And 2024 hasn’t been the best year finding all this out. We were so close as kids. When she passed my dad passed and I wasn’t on Facebook a lot around that time. She’s all I have thought about this year. And I regret not reaching out to her more. That will always haunt me. But for now, I listen to this song and every song on Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation album. That was her first record, and we LOVED IT!! ❤️ I hope anyone reading this that knows pain knows that you aren’t alone and I love you. 💕

I come back to view this video often, mainly for that killer guitar riff, but also to enjoy watching Billy writhing on a block of dry ice!
I was 3 years old, and I would just stand there staring at Billy, as i got older i danced and sang along. now i just smile and daydream🥲🫶🏼🌻
Lyrics: | "Eyes Without A Face" - Billy Idol. | I'm all out of hope One more bad break Could bring a fall When I'm far from home Don't call me on the phone To tell me you're alone It's easy to deceive It's easy to tease But hard to get release (Les yeux sans visage) eyes without a face (Les yeux sans visage) eyes without a face (Les yeux sans visage) eyes without a face Got no human grace You're eyes without a face I spend so much time Believing all the lies To keep the dream alive Now it makes me sad It makes me mad at truth For loving what was you (Les yeux sans visage) eyes without a face (Les yeux sans visage) eyes without a face (Les yeux sans visage) eyes without a face Got no human grace You're eyes without a face When you hear the music, you make a dip Into someone else's pocket, then make a slip Steal a car and go to Las Vegas Oh, the gigolo pool Hanging out by the state line Turning holy water into wine Drinking it down, oh I'm on a bus on a psychedelic trip Reading murder books, trying to stay hip I'm thinking of you and you're out there, so Say your prayers Say your prayers Say your prayers Now I close my eyes And I wonder why I don't despise Now all I can do Is love what was once So alive and new But it's gone from your eyes I'd better realize (Les yeux sans visage) eyes without a face (Les yeux sans visage) eyes without a face (Les yeux sans visage) eyes without a face Got no human grace You're eyes without a face Such a human waste You're eyes without a face And now it's getting worse. END.

The second cassette tape I ever bought was Billy Idol(the first was UB40) it was a beautiful warm Summer day in 1989, I was just a kid, but I remember it so vividly. I miss the 80s.
"Eyes Without a Face" is a song by British musician Billy Idol, released in 1984. It is a new wave and synth-pop song with elements of rock, pop, and electronic music. The song's lyrics describe a person who has lost his lover and is unable to find a new one, as he is haunted by her memory and is afraid of getting close to anyone else. The title "Eyes Without a Face" refers to the fact that the person feels like they are alone and lost without their lover. The lyrics describe the feelings of isolation, loneliness, and the inability to move on from the past. The song is a slow, haunting ballad, with a mournful melody that captures the melancholy and sadness of the lyrics. The music video for "Eyes Without a Face" is known for its dark, surreal imagery and was one of the first videos to feature special effects. The video features Idol wearing a white suit and mask, and is surrounded by mannequins and other strange objects. Overall, "Eyes Without a Face" is a haunting and emotional song that explores themes of loss, loneliness, and isolation. Its popularity has endured over the years, and it is often regarded as one of Billy Idol's most iconic songs.
