I remember that BBC alnighter. One Saturday/Sunday in summer 83. They showed a video of Freebird, an Eric Clapton OGWT session, the Hammersmith Odean gig from Duran's Rio tour... I seem to remember a live Big Country gig from Sefton Park... It was basically 24 hours of BBC music shows with promo videos in between.

Even before Steve suggested Billy should do radio with his voice, I was thinking he was like Terry Wogan with an American accent instead of Irish. The delivery is very similar.

usually you can't do anything to them, so let them rot for a few years until people start complaining. resist all suggestions at re-use/community based restoration, when eventually they mysteriously go on fire then have to be demolished for safety reasons. then the prime land they stand on can be sold for £millions. Glasgow, or indeed any big city is good for that.

Eric Gales is another lefty that plays upside down and backwards. Right handed strat but left with the low E string on the bottom. But gotta love those 7's. what is that, like 7-38 maybe?

Yeah..he just plays a right-handed guitar upside down. He doesn't string it as a left-handed guitar as Hendrix did. I am a left-handed player as well, but I use left-handed guitars. I really wish that I had forced myself to learn right-handed when I started playing 26 years ago. It sucks being a leftie because you can't try out your friend's guitars or try out guitars at the guitar stores. When I started, I did the Hendrix thing restrung right-handed guitars..but started getting left handed guitars after a few years. At least when you do it the Gales way, you can play your friends guitars. That is the only good thing I can see about playing his way.

I was thinking that exact same thing. I was recently reading through a download of a Guitar Legends mag from 2007 that featured Billy and I noticed that it was pretty much nothing but his signature look with the eternally blacked out shades ever since a couple of shadeless pictorials back at the tail end of the of the 90’s. Regardless, perhaps he has a sensitivity to light at his advanced age. Anyway, the man’s a rock and roll legend and can’t do whatever the hell he likes.

I don't know why guns n roses didn't get matt for the reunion. That guy they are using is not near as suitable to gnr. I've seen comments in other places saying matt is a douche. I get hard to believe that as he was a great friend of lemmys and Billy gibbons among other respected musicians who I don't think would be hanging with Matt if matt wasn't a good bloke.

I've had to deal with Matt 4 times professionally and he is NOT a good bloke...and I know I am not the only person who shares this opinion. There is a very good reason he doesn't get asked to return to bands...His Ego. He is a massive primadonna.

I agree with first comment about izzy. Ideally it should be the 5 original gnr members if Steven could be reliable enough. As for second comment I did read in many different places that matt is a prick and u seem to have experience of that with him. I'm just surprised lemmy was his friend and Billy gibbons.

I wonder how much Sorum paid for that hair piece. That is a very high quality, top of the line hairpiece that he is wearing. You would think that he would have gone for a transplant. But since he was always a hired gun..maybe he didn't make as much cash as one would think based on who he played with. He has toned it down and moved to a more natural looking rug though. When he first started wearing a similar one about 6 months ago, it was much more 'straight across' and very obviously not real. At least this one is passable if you didn't know him.

He always loved that stuff, if anything that perspective was probably the doings of Lydon who being more publicly vocal likely hoisted that whole taste gatekeeping of their punk attitude but I know Steve would say he’d go home after a show and listen to Journey or Boston on his own lol, but ZZ Top def was never not cool.

Major Sorum fan here but I don't get that goofy fuckin hat Gibbons is wearing and who the fuck is that DJ? He's about as exciting as the football uncle from Napoleon Dynamite. Actually less so.

@@Palace-of-Madness You’re missing the point. Most people can’t name a black metal band. Everyone knows Guns n Roses. It’s not like with Seattle where most people can name a grunge band because they actually had a tangible cultural impact. Black Metal is obscure and influence minimal.

I really want to like these shows, but Steve never seems to be prepared, seems so disrespectful and kinda lame as a host to his guests. Sucks cause he’s got some of the most amazing guests. Steve’s format is no form at all.
