Mine too! My first report I wrote in grade school was on Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. What a cool childhood-friends with Billy Crystal and Bruce Lee!

I loved watching him play, Kareem the Supreme.

I grew up in a small French town in Ontario. All we talked about was hockey...and Karem Abdul-Jabbar.

Billy is wonderful and he has the rare gift of being close friends with TWO GOATs...Kareem and the man who was the GOAT of all in ANY sport, the late, GREAT Muhammad Ali. Billy has lead a charmed life when it comes to friends. And he seems like a great guy as well.

Two of my favorites. Kareem's basketball career seemed to last forever. From my high school days way up in to adulthood. One of the greatest.

Kareem is such a unique person . I am so glad he didn't stay silent ever, and was always true to himself!

Walking through LAX one day Kareem was walking slowly with a TCBY spooning some to his mouth as he walked. I strode along side a bit, told the person on the phone with me. They said I should get his autograph. I just let the man eat his yogurt in peace. It was cool to be side by side with him for that moment.

As he said at Ali's funeral, his father was involved with Jazz, so was Kareem's. NYC is funny that way, as big as it is, it can be a small town when show biz talent is concern. Read the list of notable people from NYC high schools

Had a coworker named Gerald when I worked at Lockheed in Greenville SC and he always said he went to HS with Kareem and wed always call BS until he brought his old yearbook im and sure enough you see a tall black in the back named Lou Alcindor.
