@The Sentient Mustard His personality also really shines through when he's talking about the NWA and his love for wrestling. It's almost odd seeing one of my childhood rock icons as a wrestling promoter, because I grew up a huge wrestling fan as well, but there's something about him when he's talking about that stuff that's similar to here. Much more laid back and down to earth compared to his "biggest band in the world" persona a lot of people are probably familiar with. We all know the bad stuff that's been said about him being egotistical and hard to work with or whatever, but I'll always love the guy in spite of that, because he is human, and this clip was kind of heart-warming seeing him just casually talk about the past without worrying about a ton of camera and media attention.

I love the end credits The End is the Beginning from Batman and Robin. I bought Batman and Robin on DVD a few months ago. Is it bright where you are? Have the people changed? Does it make you happy? You're so strange. In your darkest hour. I hold secrets flame. We can watch the world devoured in its pain. Thank you, Billy and the Pumpkins for such an awesome song.

That single minute of Pumpkin music is the GREATEST moment of that movie.

I got the Mr. Freeze toy and was completely in love with the film as a child. I remember the 2 SP songs the most, I loved the soundtrack and those 2 songs still stand out to bring back some great childhood moments. Music brings it to life, to me.

Seeing him with a gray beard reminds me that I'm only a few years younger than him.

This made me smile, thanks for sharing! I truly cannot wait until he releases a book filled with stories like this one. I enjoyed his "confessions" blog back in the mid 2000's, but holy cow Billy Corgan is such a gold mine of stories about so many different people from all walks of life. :)

Yeah I remember those too, he has the capacity to write some great readable books on the Pumpkins + his life which would be really interesting. Maybe we'll get those around the same time the Machina reissue eventually comes out! 😑

For those two colorful movies to come from Joel Schumacher as an adult blows my mind knowing his body of work. Falling Down, 8mm (Which is not a movie you should have your girlfriend walk in on you watching at certain scenes lol), Flatliners, Phone Booth, A Time to Kill and I want to say Eye for an Eye (one of the most graphic take scenes in a movie I think, I think he directed it). All super heavy and adult themes and dark.

I really wish, in all the times I've seen him live since the 90s, even just once, he would have added The End is the Beginning is the End to a set list. Such a great song. Anyone else here ever see the Pumpkins live where that song was part of the set? Because, if so, I'm jealous.

The Watchman was awesome. The thing with the Schumacher Batman was that it went back to the 60's TV series. It was camp and not horrible.

Well actually he talked for hours lol 😂 But as much I love him, let’s just say he definitely has “the gift of gab”. He is brilliant and kind and it is always fun getting him angsty and watch those cheeks turn red.

He’s a huge advocate for sobriety! Even kicked out his guitarists if they weren’t sober

I just listened to both those songs again recently and I still like the slow version just as much, sometimes even more than the fast one. Depending on my mood. But when that soundtrack came out, I listened to The Smashing Pumpkins tracks more than any others.

His restaurant has amazing food. Their desserts are beyond delicious. It's a really cool place too. I work near there a lot. But I decided to give it a taste. Tried the grilled cheese (vegan food mind you) Very delicious. If you're ever in Illinois, go there, it's in highland park. Sometimes if you're lucky Billy is there. But it's just really cool to see a legendary artist up front and just hear what they have to say and even chill with them. They are human, just had a great opportunity to play their art to the world.

There's the real punchline at the VERY end.. Wow this story was Norm level meander.

Became a lifelong fan of watchmen and the smashing pumpkins because of that trailer

The songs they made for that movie were far better than what that movie deserved.

I understand his criticism of Batman and Robin since I feel like everybody has the same opinion lol. But watchmen?! I’d love to have a nerdy superhero talk with him and ask him what he didn’t like about it

If he loves the Watchmen comics as I do I can understand. Specially it´s this way for the old folks like me who were reading those comics when they came out in the 80´s. It´s not an awful movie but it´s an awful adaptation for many of us.

Batman Forever and Batman+Robin soundtracks are full of amazing music!

I'm still thankfull to Batman & Robin for making the eleven years old me discover the Pumpkins, along with '89 and Forever those were my first CDs ever and I still have nothing but love for them. Also while agree on everything he said about "The Beginning is The End is The Beginning" being underrated and yet part of one of the greatest trailer of all time, I disagree on the movie, Watchmen was awesome, not as perfect as the graphic novel, but as close as you can get for such a direct transposition and complexity of the story (300 & Sin City were more faithful adaptations but the plot was also much easier to condense in a movie). That said, even if The Beginning is The End was always my favourite of the two, The End is The Beginning has probably one of my all time break in music, at about 2:40 in it slows down for thirty seconds of pure musical beauty.... And I admit I almost broke my mother's stereo as a child rewinding the track just to relisten to that part... xD!

George Clooney is Rosemary Clooney’s nephew, not son. The Watchmen movie was no where near as good as the comic book. That thing was brilliant. I watched the extended cut, or unrated, or whatever it was a few years ago, and it wasn’t so bad. The movie needed a giant fake space alien squid to destroy New York like in the comic. I will say Rorschach was spot on perfect, though.

Rosemary Clooney was Miguel Ferrer’s mother. Making Miguel and George cousins. Also Jose Ferrer was technically George’s uncle briefly through his marriage to Rosemary.

It was as good of an adaptation as I could have hoped for. I enjoyed it. The trailer put a lot of asses in the seats. Many would not have paid to see it in a theatre. :)

Lol I’m a movie guy and I got in to The Smashing Pumpkins through Batman And Robin and Watchmen. They are my favorite band and also my first favorite band ever - they are how I got in to music 🤘🏽

This is the their best song in my opinion - Zero and Butterfly come close, and Ava Adore.

I played the fuck out the Batman & Robin soundtrack so the Watchmen trailer immediately took me back.

Billy looks like a sailor. I dig it. I hope he keeps the beard on tour. I bet he'll be able to do something fancy with it to make it look all impressive.

I’ll never forget being 13 and going to the theater for Batman & Robin. It was my first cinematic disappointment, but I did have the soundtrack, which was pretty great. Especially the last track (beginning/end/beginning), so it’s super cool to hear him speak of that version with such affection. Same with that Watchmen trailer! We’ll just casually avoid him giving clearance to Kevin Smith to use 1979 in Clerks 2. (Yikes. Shame on you, Kevin.)

That movie is a fun romp! A lot like a broadway musical mixed with a Batman movie... Hard to have bad feelings about something so fun and colorful and theatrical...

Anybody remember 90/91 Northwestern Univ had "Armadillo Days". I still don't know what it was supposed to be. Pumpkins were crushing it at Double Door and the like. Made a special effort to go see them. The band outnumbered the crowd!?! How do you leave something like that? It was 2pm w/ the sun beating down. Turns out Armadillo Days has a lot to do with hallucinogenic mushrooms.

I might actually prefer that slowed down version of 'Beginning is the End' that they used for the trailer, too. It seems to heighten the drama of the song somewhat, although the original is still great

The End is the Beginning is the End no longer exists. I mean literally. You might find it on some obscure KZread channel. But if you look on music streaming services (at least the ones I have), it cannot be played. The Beginning is the End is the Beginning (the slower version) can easily be found- even at karaoke. Just an interesting side note
