I was 13/14 years old (1973/4) and a friend had bought an album by Billy Connolly, I have been a fan ever since that day. I'm 63 now and have followed this man most of my life. He is simply a Comedy Genius. My Comedy Hero for 50 years or so, Thank you Billy for always being there to cheer me up at my darkest times.

Billy is an honest to god saint. He’s peaceful and truly cares about his fellow man…you could also say he’s part philosopher, part scholar maybe even one of histories great thinkers.. but i know one thing for certain and that is if he wasn’t gifted to us via Glasgow we wouldn’t have the Billy Connolly we all know and love because he is Glasgow more than Glasgow is him..he just adds something absolutely brilliant and beautiful. Thank God For Billy Connolly

Being a Mackem myself (No not a Geordie even though we are usually and annoyingly mistaken for One) The Big Yin is still my All time favourite Comedian and I doubt there will ever be another that meets his Criteria and Experience of life.I’ve always said Billy Tells stories not jokes and my favourite thing about Him is his ability to go completely off Piste yet return to what he was originally talking about. A Talent without doubt and it’s Soul Destroying to see how debilitating Parkinson’s disease has taken this man’s normal off the rails personality.
