Billy Connolly, the perfect blend of rock'n'roll, music, poetry, comedy and yet so human, so down to earth. So in touch with who he is and where he came from. Billy you will always be the ultimate working class hero to me, I laugh and cry in almost equal measure to your material, and will always aspire to your enthusiasm for life and all which it contains. You give hope to so many, probably unknowingly because you remain so humble, almost vulnerable and yet so vibrant and hungry for a life most of us will never experience. One in a million. Love you Big Yin x

All three of you are right. I explained to my daughter who he was after we'd watched 'A Series of Unfortunate Events', she said he seems like the best Uncle ever; she was only 6 at the time. We then watched lots of videos of his stand up and telly shows. He is loved in our house, as he is in millions of homes around the world. Long live Billy.

The great Billy Connolly. Pure talented. I never missed a episode of this when is was aired on Tv.
How wonderful it would be to find yourself in that pub on that night. Love Billy's performance of The Ballad of John Hardy and his banjo playing. Perfection!

A very highly talented man.
John Hardy song is about a real man in McDowell County, WV. I love Billy’s appreciation of Appalachian music.

Thanks for sharing! Pure joy in the session, lovely to see. Stay safe and rock on!
This was filmed not long after I moved to Dublin... brings back memories seeing “Canary Dwarf” being built again!
This was during the Celtic Tiger years mind. Also The Point is no more, it’s now the 3Arena.
Absolutely amazing 🇨🇦🍁🤗🐘

One of our own..
Love the trike ... and Billy.
I kinda wish he'd shown the plaque in Joseph Plunkett's cell, where Grace Gifford married him minutes before he was executed.
I L❤VE the history lessons in these videos. I think you are awesome. Please make more, travel/history videos ❤❤

Billy must have played John Hardy twice, once finger picking and then clawhammer style. A good raucous performance by all though...👍

No disrespect, but it might not be a good idea to post your address publicly on a KZread video, if that's what the latter of you comment was.

The Irish history has many similarities with the Palestinians, did you know that, Billy?
Oooops. All that building pre 2008 hehe. Crash.
Good thing to make don't make a living thing cuz you would have failed
Sounds almost Cajun like in the the movie Southern Comfort.
Billy I love your jokes but Stick to comedy you would never made it as a singer ... 😂

Well he would never have came too comedy, without being a folk singer first. He also has a UK No1 single, so it really depends on what you mean, by not making it as a singer.

I'm trying to be nice...but with a name like Massab...well really you should refrain from commenting on things you apparently know nothing about. Early in Billy's career as a folk singer he recorded a song called Tennessee love song...l think that was the title..? Lovely song he wrote himself ... Listen to it...it's brilliant. !!

Duh! He made it as a singer already! My Billy experience started in 74 / 75 with some of his comedy songs, “if it wasnea for yer wellies” D.I.V.O.R.C.E. etc then his comedy followed.
