I loved this reaction 😂🤝 for sure have to react to more Billie! “Wish you were gay” is basically about someone not liking you back for no particular reason and wishing the reason was because they were gay so that there’d at least be a reason. Easier pill to swallow

The album is a masterpiece. It was recorded in the tiny house she grew up in just outside of Los Angeles. It was produced by her brother Finneas. All of her music is produced and co-written by her brother. They recorded this album in his bedroom. And they got like 7 Grammys for it.

ik that some of the beats w her cadence were kinda throwing you off in a couple songs, and i think happier than ever(one of her later albums) has much better production overall and fits her vocals better, so you should give it a try! also her vocals go crazy on "what was i made for?" (single)

Hey, I turned 70 today - Dec. 27, 2023 and will meet with 3 classmates and their wives in a town for burgers @ 6:00 pm - wanted to share that with a good guy! I really enjoyed your reaction - I love Billie's music - saw her live in St. Paul, MN on March 15, 2023 and it was great - first concert in over 40 years. I really like the way you listen appreciatively and when a track wasn't to your liking or your taste you could say so without dismissing Billie - the track "8" has never caught on with me. And "MY STRANGE ADDICTION" with clips from 'The OFFICE' I think I would like better without those Television clips, as far as the outro "GOOD BYE" I think it's brilliant the way Billie include a line from all the tracks in reverse order to summarize the album. I think it's a great album and Billie's voice is a treasure - he's easy to miss - but her brother FINNEAS is the sole write for the track you love - a 100 - "When the Party's Ove" [Finneas also wrote 'My Strange Addiction'] and he produced the whole album - I love "Bad Guy" and I also love "Bury a Friend" - have you seen the music video for "Bury A Friend" - pretty cool. Happy New Year to you! When you fall asleep where do you go? I go to dream land or on a bad night, nightmareland!

ok so let me just… ”all the good girls go to hell” is about global warming, yk how she sings “hills burn in California, my turn to ignore ya, don’t say I didn’t warn ya” & “when the water starts to rise & heaven is out of sight” It’s about how the climate is changing & we are destroying it. In the song "Xanny" Billie is basically describing how it is to have friends who drink, smokes & take drugs but she doesn’t do it. “I’m in a second-hand smoke still just drinking canned coke" & "on designated drives home , only one who's not stoned" The song "wish you were gay" is about liking someone who doesn't show interest back & to spare your pride you wish that person was gay so you would have an explanation to why without it damaging your ego. "to spare my pride, to give ur lack of interest an explanation, don't say I'm not ur type, just say that I'm not ur preferred sexual orientation" The title name ilomilo is actually inspired by a "tv game" Billie used to play during her childhood where the two characters were called Ilo and Milo. And lastly, in the song "listen before I go" Billie is basically implying jumping off a roof. And the thoughts before, for example "sorry can't save me now" & "if you need me , wanna see me, u better hurry cus I'm leaving soon" & "call my friends & tell them that I love them & I'll miss them, but I'm not sorry" & then the final line "sorry" I'm sorry abt the bad grammar but English isn't my first language ok😭

the static/vibrato sound in xanny is supposed to mimic chocking/being suffocated bc of smoke

Chappell has an album that just came out called “Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess” and with your reaction of “Good Luck Babe!” I think you would really appreciate some of the slower songs that she has and her RANGEEE!! Melanie on the other hand is and has been that crazy bitch since 2015. Her music is whimsical, weird and hauntingly beautiful. Definitely another one who you wouldn’t expect to like but once you start just listening to her music you never want to stop. Crybaby, her first album, is nostalgic almost (for me at least) and has a lot of really heavy undertones, and it’s very fascinating to hear her combine wild stories with amazing beats and I think you would LOVEEE it.

So Billie has two albums, two EPs, and a bunch of singles not on any of them. Aside from some early ones she directs her own music videos. She has a ton of live performances. You said we should've recommended her sooner. All of the above are worth checking out. She 's an amazing singer live, all her songs are amazing and her music videos are really cool and are designed to go hand in hand with the music.
