How I see this is. If the record company produced the songs, hired ppl to mix it, back ground music etc, hired writers - the the artist is simply a lending voice. Just like an actor acts a role but the production of a movie and the script is made by someone else, the actor wouldn’t then have ownership of the movie now? Same thing for most singer artists, they are just the voice. In Taylor’s case she wrote her songs but other stuff was the records doing thus she only had certain ownership of certain things.

When spotify made free music for all She removed them from Spotify And then she talks about touching people with her music and healing them If that would have been her first priority ; then obviously she wouldn't have pulled off her music Her first priority was Money 😌 So I can't really digest the fact that she wants her masters just because its her art Definitely money is on her mind

@@amartyaprakash897 you would be mad too if your hard work didn't pay off at all... in an open letter, she was speaking on behalf of all artists who were underpaid by streaming services and changed the way they pay artists for their work. impact of her pulling her music from Spotify can be seen to this day and all artists (who now earn money almost solely from streaming) should be thankful she did it.

And also don’t embarrass yourselves without knowing the facts, she removed her music because many small artists weren’t getting paid by the streaming services and she spoke up for it. tbf she wasn't the only creative mind behind her projects, many people were involved to make them happen, and without the company's producers, those albums wouldn't have seen the light of the day. It's not a matter of deserving or not, but a matter of legal property. The biggest catch here is that Scott did not give her the chance to purchase those rights, which wouldn't have sparked this chain of events, but I'm glad she's taking matters into her own hands.

@@Timothee_Chalamet_CMBYN Taylor wrote (or co-wrote with one or two people) EVERY single song on every single album, made melodies, played the instruments, sat in the studio all day long and did everything to make every song perfect. In “The Making of a Song” you can see the writing process and everything after that, please watch that before writing comments like these. I also didn’t see Scott B*rchetta or Sc***er Braun in the studio, writing lyrics or having anything to do with the song/album itself. Taylor should be allowed to own *her* work, because she achieved everything herself. Without Tay and her masters BMR would be nothing and Sc*t B knew that, that’s exactly why Tay didn’t get to buy them. Also: STOP STREAMING FEARLESS, STREAM FEARLESS (Taylor’s Version)

I don’t understand why Scott didn’t just sell the masters to Taylor? He’s known her for so long, why end it like this. The only explanation is that Big Machine is worthless without Taylors Masters lol?

Maybe that is the reason why taylor left Big machine record because of she can't own her masters and also because the new contract that the big machine issued which 1=1 album. So taylor didn't have any choice but to leave and rerecord her albums. In addition if you watch back in "Look what you made me do" music video where taylor lift a motorcycle. That's the time she hint us about the conflict with the record label...

it’s such an important conversation to have, especially because her rights to her own music are deserved just as much as anyone else’s rights to their own music. i just can’t believe that she doesn’t get to truly own what she writes!! can’t wait for the re-recordings 💗

I don't care anymore if what people would think about her making re-recorded versions of her songs, even if the old ones are nostalgic. Hearing her sing her songs again freely and as same as original is what makes me happy for her and her career.

Omg her version is way more nostalgic. She has the same voice back then but it's just stronger and more confident. Like her old Love Story, I had to blast my phone to hear that-

she is so strong. she had gone through everythinf in this industry yet she's still standing strong continuing to be loved by the whole world. her rerecording her old songs is just another step into her career and I hope that she becomes even more successful in the future

She was given the opportunity to buy her masters, but it was on a make-a-new-one get-an-old-one-back basis (including all artwork etc.) and she did not say yes to that (OBVIOUSLY), then suddenly mr 300m dollar (who used to bully her) bought it without her knowing it, that's I think what missed in this video. They maybe could have worked it out if these men weren't out for the money and had any appreciation for art left in their body. I really appreciate JoJo being included in this video. She's often overlooked in the topic of rights feuds and re-recordings. I love how Taylor is taking it to a whole 'nother level, adding songs, including some extra artists. You go gurl! Can't wait for her to own her work.

Yeah that deal wouldn't even be worth Taylor buying her old ones back. Doing her version was the good choice and now it's the best choice. I was unsure at the start but she was able to captivate her singing back then so well, her new versions will just be better her.

@@mytravls They didn't even offer to sell her albums to her and you think they would let her buy the company lol- They did shady buisness without telling Taylor which is normal in all companies but needs to be changed and Taylor saw that and changed her ways. Like the others say the only way to own her old albums was to make new ones which is pointless because she would be owning her old albums while her new ones would make money but wouldn't be owned by her. It's a forever cycle and that deal was terrible and shows how people can be so awful all due to the greed of money.

I think she also did it for the dedicated Swifties who stopped listening to songs they loved to go against Scooter. I personally felt guilty listening to her old stuff, knowing that slime ball profited most.

It’s okay to listen to her old stuff, I do. But there’s a catch, I don’t stream on “official streaming services.” I do it from swifties uploading the lyric videos on KZread. I also play her old CDs I own in my car, rather than streaming.

The real fact is Taylor swift want her song been play anytime anywhere their fans want without any interrupt because the song belong to her, swifties and all people who love her music not to the people who want to sell their song for wealthy

Non swifties should be aware that she didn't rerecord her past 6 albums just for awards, for money nor for more streams. She can have all of that without rerecordings. But she's doing all of this just to own the albums she made and worked her whole life

"what does she stand to gain" but also let's talk about what it costs her. It takes a year of promo, recording, and funding for album releases that won't make her as much money as new albums. this isn't for fun, or a money grab. shes losing time and money by doing this, but it's a sacrifice she will take to own her music.

She doesn't even need money at this point. She's rercording for her own rights and also for her fans. Fearless her version is #1 on Spotify already. She's going to be earning money by releasing these albums too. She's already so rich so this isn't really a risk if she's going to be dropping albums her version every few months. I'm sure she has a plan and she doesn't need to keep releasing albums, she released two last year. She deserves a break to rerecord music she wrote that was sold off out of the blue. She's popular and rich enough, this is a pretty good move I think.

@@amartyaprakash897 I think there needs to be a balance between making music accessible to everyone and still paying artists. She along with artists like Beyoncé and Adele removed their catalogues from streaming because they wanted fair compensation for smaller artists. While of course she’s also fighting to get paid herself, that’s fair. She makes quality music that people care about, so she uses it as leverage against corporations taking away artists ownership or compensation. That’s a noble cause.

Swifties vote for her, she is nominated in several categories in Iheart radio !!!!

Prince's re-recording was a let-down. His fans loved the original more. Jojo's case is different from Taylor's because she needed to re-record her first two albums to get out of her old label. For Taylor, she just wants to own her own work.

I don't like how you used "she just" cause it sounds a bit downgrading. But I don't know, maybe that's just how you see it. Anyways, even if 40% or 60% will prefer her old catalog, does not change anything, she achieved her goal and did all of these for herself and her fans. Not to mention also for her family because behind the scenes, we knew her parents have confronted the issue over years a man who they disagree with wanting to buy her. Yes, buy her as he has put out on his Instagram story on the day the news broke out of his successful purchase.

I would really love to hear Red re-recorded 💖 that was my favourite Taylor album through my teen years, and I can't wait to hear "from the vault" songs from the Red era. I still listen to songs like All Too Well and Begin Again every week. She deserves to own her own creation
