I bought all Be Bop Deluxe albums back then, but never saw them live. I would still pay a fortune today to see Bill live, with or without BBD (we remember Charles Tumahai). Bill still has the voice, the guitar play, and the talent. Amazing !

Ive been fortunate enough to Follow Bill and his antics since about 1976. backwards and forwards. Theres never been a dull moment. And his wonderful creativity and musical virtuosity through all the twists and turns has never wavered . PS whats amazing as I add this footnote in September 2022 - I still have the pleasure of finding stuff in his amazing back catalogue Ive never even heard before. (such a wondrous body of musical genius). Only wish I could meet him for a chat.

My all time favorite artist...Guitar Master, Aural Alchemist, Axe Victim, brilliant lyricist .'. .'. etc... saw Be Bop Deluxe open for, of all people Ted Nugent back in the 70's (S.F. Bay Area) and it was so beyond the crowds expectations, that nobody knew what was happening... saw him again when Red Noise played the Bay Area, another mind blower.. this video made my day, reminded me of the transformational power of music.... I literally wept with joy watching .... Thank You Master Nelson!

Bill and Be Bop were fantastic, years ahead of their time, Bill had a TV Wristwatch on cover of Modern Music, decades before even apple released them ! WOW, and he warned us of "Drastic Plastic", and I think Bowie took influence and ideas from Be Bop, they were very very underated

I moved back to France in early Dec 2010. I decided to take in the Nelsonica before I left seeing as it was promoted to to be extra special. I made my way thru bad weather to the my first and the 10th Nelsonica. Bill can from the first bar grip u with musical intensity and creates magical atmospheres that leave u hanging for the next number. Not on this occasion. He chose to start the proceedings accompanied with a flautist and bass player . It just went nowhere and I couldn't wait for the break

the DVD that this is from is excellent and well worth the bargain price on Amazon. Bill is always so critical of his live performances and often states he how he dislikes covering his old stuff. But these songs are classics and live in the hearts and minds of his loyal followers today. Bill is so cool live or on record. One of the most underrated and talented guitarists and writers Britain has.

This recording of October Man is better than the original. Bill Nelson sounds/plays as good or better than the BBD days. I was very fortunate to see BBD twice. First for the Live in the Air Age tour at the Santa Monica Civic then again for the Drastic Plastic tour at the Shrine in Los Angeles. Here we are decades later and we're fortunate enough to have this live at the Metropolis release. There is a bit of irony here for BBD fans. The connection is interesting when you realize the film used, as a backdrop, on the Live in the Air Age tour show contained footage from the Fritz Lang classic Metropolis. Also, the still on the cover of the Live in the Air Age album is a still from the same movie.

After all these years I've finally been able to buy a dvd/video of Bill Nelson, ie, this "Legends" dvd. Would love to have some Be-Bop, Red Noise or early solo material on video. There must be some footage somewhere of the brilliant 2004 30th anniversary tour. I can't recomend enough, the cd I bought on that tour, "Satellite Songs" released for that tour. A rare album nowdays of Bill singing on most tracks. Gutted not to be at this show.

Happy Hallo'een from George, here in Knotty Ash! It's the end of October. But not The Man! Nor me, unfortunately for you lot. Beware the Witch, don't let her see you, or your Mother wont know you the next time she sees you! (cackling laughter). I:ve frightened some children this evening, which was fun. I am tighter than my Uncle Kenny Dodd (sadly not here, but at least he had a good excuse for tax evasion!) He lived just 5 minutes down the road from me and told my Mother that I was too tall to be a diddy man, at the Knotty Ash church fete when I was 11. I was 5 ft7 so I saw his point. My Mother. like all pushy Mums, also sadly gone to the Jam Butty Mine in the sky, well she was v upset with Ken, she passed two weeks before I trecked down to that London, to see Bill at The Jazz cafe, with Channel Light Vessel. I digress, anyway now I am The Knotty Ash village idiot and a charitable institution! Please give me a wave!!! xxxx
