They chose to sell the country out by "selling the idea that our Government doesn't work", while defunding every program that did work. Like TDR's. . The proof is in their own votes against every single Domestic program that worked better than any other in the world. (once). They have been cutting funds for education for 30 years, now they condemn it, as they pay a corporation to give phony tests, and they push for a corporation (unaudited Charter School) to take it's place. Charter's only accept kids with high scores, they expel those who don't. The GOP new goal. "Outsource everything US (that once worked better than anyone else's) and hand it to a corporation to ruin also using our tax money. The GOP run states have remained poor, undereducated, live less healthy lives, and have higher crimes over the past 30+years. When will they wake up and stop listening to Fox. The whole world knows Fox lies legally, and then uses pretenders' (fake religion) to stand behind it.

The problem is more that intellectuals, love them or hate them, are afraid to look like hypocrites. Make no mistake, intellectuals were pointing their fingers at Sanford as much as you would expect. So for them to take A.W back would make them look like hypocrites to the right, and they dont want that. Where as the right, dont care if they look like hypocrites because they know it wont hurt them in the long run (or at least they think that). If the left took more morale risks like actually backing politicians that make marital mistakes (like they did with Clinton) they could salvage so many great minds. I agree with Bill that it was a shame that the left made John Edwards disappear after his fiasco.

There is a big difference! While the republicans were reading the Lewinsky affair and jerking off under the table, while voting with the other hand to impeach Bill Clinton, the deeds of John Edwards are deplorable and NO redemption is possible! Yes, I am partly responsible for people being killed by NATO or western agression, because I live in Norway, and thus far has done little to protest what we are doing. What I meant to say was that it is almost as bad as murder, not just as bad, not to help when one is in a position to help. But not helping, say someone injured at the scene of a road accident, is in fact a crime.

I think they're probably referring to religious Buddhism when they say all. I think Buddhism is quite nice as a philosophy, which is how it was originally intended.
