Maher was quasi-likable when he focused his vitriol on widely-despised groups like the Christian Right and the Drug War zealots who claimed cannabis was equivalent to crack. But in hindsight, those views were consistent with his true nature as a libertarian atheist weed-smoker. In other words, he embraced what appeared to be leftist positions only on issues that impacted him personally. But as an untalented, out of touch, and overpaid entertainer, that neoliberalism never led him to care about things like economic or social justice.

He's uncategorisable politically, which is how everyone should be if you ask them what they think. If you actually think things through and have a mind of your own, you're going to have some beliefs that come from all over the political spectrum. And you're going to be the kind of person who can't be easily categorised. It's stupid that I can ask most people for their opinion on Palestine and instantly know what their opinion will also be about GM crops and climate change and abortion too. It's like they bulk buy their political views in one shopping trip, from one political shop, and then that's it, that's their politics settled forever, that's their thinking done.

You are an ignorant of history. Look since the 1948 in an objective manner you'll find was not Israel the problem or Palestine. How can you say don't attack an occupier to an occupied people? His humiliation is long overdue.

"For you to make something illegal you need the capacity to enforce it" And that is why the Palestinians in the West bank are currently living under apartheid rule and have been steadily losing their lands to illegal settlers. The moment they agreed to completely disarm in hopes of reaching a peaceful solution, Israel no longer had a reason to negotiate. The reason there is a genocide now in Gaza, is because the West made sure no one has any capacity to enforce consequences to Israel's actions. They did not give Israel a reason to stop.

Burr had an even better line where he says to Maher “whens the last time you said you were wrong”

20% of the population of Israel proper (not the occupied territories) is Arab. All of the Arabs inside Israel (over 2 million) have full citizenship and the rights that go along with it. 100 of them have even been members of the Knesset. If you ask the Arabs in Israel who they want to govern them, they will tell you they like the government the way it is. I usually wouldn't give Maher the satisfaction of a view from me, but I ended up watching this full episode twice. Not only does Bill Burr constantly roast the hell out of Maher, but there's a few times where Bill sings tidbits of Beatles songs and has a surprisingly soothing voice.

Bill Burr isn’t my favorite comic but he’s a great example that older male comics don’t have to fall into “they’re trying to cancel comedy!” rabbit hole

If HBO gives Maher's show to Burr they'll only have to change the last name on the chyron and I could finally watch it again

Equating all Palestinians to Hamas is like saying all Americans are all Hell's Angels. Bill Mahr, the only comedian that belittles his own audience because they don't find his jokes funny. How did this no talent ever happen?

Bill Burr has such wit and social awareness that after he knows he torched him hella hard he made a joke that puffed him up a little bit and changed the subject.

Bill Maher is just three Tucker Carlson's in a trench coat.
