Bill Kazmaier Exclusive Interview

Фильм және анимация

Get the Book: www.amazon.com/Jailhouse-Stro...
A former oil rigger, bouncer and lumberjack sounds pretty badass and that certainly an accurate description of Bill Kazmaier. But more impressive is we are talking about the greatest strength athlete of all time.
Some of Kaz’s most impressive titles and feats of strength include:
· 3-Time World Strongest Man
· 2 IPF World Championships (when there was only one federation)
· First person to bench press 300 kg (661 lbs)
· 2425 3-lift total (strict judging and without modern supportive gear)
Kaz, now a born-again Christian and motivational speaker, sat down with me in an exclusive interview at the GASP headquarters. In this interview, Kaz talks about getting started in the iron game, training techniques, various contest and competitors, and mental strategies he used to create success. If you’ve already seen the legacy interview GASP posted earlier this week, this one contains about 30 minutes of additional footage.

This guy was 30 plus years ahead of his time, this occurred to me as ten year old kid watching it in the early 70's,so much so that contest organisers had to handicap him through unfair means, had he had them on his side he would,to this day,be the most winning-est WSM contestant of all time.

@Joe M. How do you know that your version of events is accurate?... Because of a gut feeling or what a produced TV show impressed upon you? Remember that the TV people can make anyone look good or bad by the way they both interview and construct the program. This is a perception issue, maybe I'm biased, maybe your biased who knows.

I love this guy man, all the great Kaz memories over the years and he’s still killing it. I’m disgusted by what the teacher told him when he was young, but thankful that it didn’t deter young Kaz. There are men that have won more titles than Bill at WSM, but only one can say that they weren’t even allowed to compete because they were that damn good. The man , the myth, the legend, the one and only Bill Kazmier. Thank you Josh, I know you’re strong AF too brother, been following you since you hit that 640 bench years ago…

Started watching Kaz in his early years of Strongman. The greatest of all time. We were all on active duty [in the military] and we would head to the gym afterwards. I had the good fortune to meet him in his gym in Auburn. I was so awestruck I was speechless lol. A giant of a man and he laughed [I was in uniform on active duty]. He thanked me for my service. So cool.. I honestly hope he does write a book along with a training book. I wish he would spend time with Brian Shaw and work with him.

He played defensive and offensive line for Mizzou then the San Diego Chargers in the NFL. Look him up. He was a monster. He was not fat all in high school either. Insane. He played for 15 seasons with the Chargers.

Overall I'd say Bill was the best out of him, capes and JPS he just had that crazy brute power and if the clocks wound back for bill I think he would give Eddie a good run; that being said I think Geoff deserves a bit more respect than bill gives him here, he is a legend and an Olympian with a very diverse career in strength and wasn't just "a quitter" Also, despite it being Jon's events in 87 bill still lost to the best man on the day JPS was in better condition and would have still won even with different events IMO. Kaz in his prime was the best of the 3 and would have probably had 6 wsm titles, but the best man still won on the day in 87.

  • @Jason-me1bs

Buffalo 87 was Controversial. They disqualified him from an event very quickly. Personally I don’t think they could let Kaz come back and win as it would have made a mockery of WSM. They never officially announced his exclusion was due to his clear dominance despite people knowing the truth. It’s my opinion that the 87 WSM was engineered at the earliest opportunity they could to derail Kaz. It’s also worth noting that when he returned to WSM he has suffered a major pec tear and that lost him around a 100kg in strength. The fact that he was damaged but still at the level of the rest speaks volumes.

Thing is with JP he never ever had excuses if he lost in fact if he got beaten he was the first person to congradulate on the win.

Kaz would have beaten Capes on any given day. JPS was more evenly matched though if you looked at the strongman footage, there are plenty of instances where JPS approached events with better technique that put him on top.

@@robertdieder4178 Kaz was better than Capes in most competitions but there were exceptions. Look up the World Muscle Power Championships. Capes beat Kaz a number of times.
