If Finland becomes a member of Nato, Finland will keep its defence budget in 2% or over; there's no doubt for that. Compliance with agreements has always been important to Finland. In 1932, Finland paid the instalment in full and on time to the United States on a food loan received in 1919. Finland was the United States’ only debtor country that continued to pay its debt to the end. Ps. Finland's hidden costs are estimated to be 1-2% of GDP, in which case Finland's actual defence budget would be 3.2-4.2% of GDP in 2022.

Sweden has better military than Finland. Best Air force and best Submarines and best weapons and equipment overall with top class tech. You still use old kalasjnikovs from the 60s

@@studentstudent5044 Those are Valmet (originally). We use RK 92 TP too from the 90s, but only in few garrisons. Hemvärnet uses 60s guns too. There are its sides, we have 280,000 soldiers against your 50,000 soldiers and better artillery. Our tactics is to be mobile as possible, constantly moving and adapting to constantly changing situation, so we don't need much heavy equipments, those would slow us down. We need more compact vechicles to move throughout the forest with us.

@@leopartanen8752 Still old weapons, while Sweden used the top modern AK5c. And do you realize how easy it would be for the Swedish airforce to just eliminate any groups targets? Every time I talk with a finn they always mention their Numbers of ground solders but ut’s comoletely pointless, your army is just a bunch of guys running around in a forest. Sweden don’t need as many ground forges cause Sweden has the best tech and equipment

@@studentstudent5044 Sweden won't need that, because you don't have 1300km land border with Russia, you have only the sea, so it's very different. Just for the reminder, we have air forces and anti-aircraft defense too.

@@studentstudent5044 I remember time when biggest issue in swedish army was: Use hair net or not? Sweden was war in 1809. Big gap.

Also worth noting that Finland's universal conscript system is very cost effective way to have large army. (wartime strenght of 280 000, reserve of 900 000 ) . So following costs only does not give a full view.

@@studentstudent5044 Quantity is quality also. Sweden has no capability for conventional big scale war in land. Most of the losses in Ukraine have been caused by artillery , Sweden has some dozens per type them while Finland has hundreds per type. We use our own better version of AK, which is better for our conditions than for example M-16.
