Thing is, if he wouldn't, he'd run out of time soonish. One can play whole games with only 30 sec online, but in face-to-face there ain't no premoving and the moving takes you ever so long. Look how he just lost three seconds by accidentaly knocking the pawn.

@@wiede9312 Not really true, I've played vs Carlsen and seen him play vs many of my friends with 30 sec timers as well as done it myself, you can easily play 60 move games against worse people, because you use the opponents time to both do the thinking and to prethink your movement. Knocking over pieces will cost you time, but you can usually do the first 15 moves in less than 5 seconds. Carlsen was not trying his hardest here, he usually moves way faster than this.

I can see why Magnus called it a cheap trick - to pull it off he exchanged a winning position (stockfish 11: -1) to a losing position (+4.2) with the expectation that Bill will blunder and mate himself. The only way to escape the mate threat while maintaining the winning position is to move the rook.

True story: when I was 17, I worked at the book bindery in Portland, OR where the very first windows instruction books were printed. One day, Gates had a meeting with the manager in their office. Hi family was wealthy, but his success didn't come from that. Anyone could have, given the talent and also luck, have developed Windows. He was ruthless in business though, but he definitely had skills.

btw Javawolf thats right anyone could buy the thousands of dollars worth of pc parts and copyrights you should understand there are multiple layers of which if he did not have. Windows would have never have been his, nor would he had been given the chance with less money soo it may not have everything to do with it,so to act as if it doesnt help isn't very smart...

I am a big fan of both of those people and I really would like to see more of this.

Shady Munchie As a Norwegian who has seen a lot of the shows, I can tell you that he (Skavlan) is like this all the time, and I find it almost unwatchable. He's better in the Norwegian interviews, but I don't see how people can even watch long English interviews with him...

He’s Magnus Carlsen but even a player with 1600 I don’t think would lose that quickly

It doesn't take a lot of time hearing this guy speaking to realize he isn't like other people, he is pretty much special. Being like him and having his mind can be very lonely and without him everyone else loses a lot. I am sad and happy for him in the same time

I came for the chess match and didnt know it was a interview i was going to skip through it but im glad i watched & listened to the whole thing. I love what Bill Gates and his organization is doing , i believe that’s how the wealthy should use their money - to help those in need ! God bless everyone !

Gates is actually evil. He even admitted he is trying to reduce the global population by at least 15% That's messed up and just the tip of the iceberg if you look into it. Even check out his instagram to see the people catching on to his schemes finally in the comments! o:

The thing he said about philantropy was really great. I think more people should listen to this. Of course 100 billion dollars are more than a small amount of money. But a billionaire who donates billions of dollars still got billions. Someone who has to give up on something they want or need just to help someone else could be considered more generous. I'm not shaming on rich people for donating, I just loved to hear it from someone in that exact position.

I love this. I didn't want bill to lose wish they both won. Bill is such a humble person and inspires me. There are some games though that everyone can be a winner. Like the game of life , we can all win together through love.
