I was at a court house some years ago and I was at an elevator clearly marked 2-5. A guy walks up and asks, "Does this go to the 2nd floor?" I said, "Nope, they made a special elevator for that down the hall and to the right." He walked away! He comes back seconds later and without missing a beat I said, "Here's your sign." A few months ago it was storming pretty good and it was a dark midmorning due to the storm. I entered a building fairly wet and a guy comes up and says, "Is it raining?" I shook my head and replied, "No, it's completely sunny and I am covered in angel tears." The guy went outside just in time for a flash of lightning, strong clap if thunder, with a torrential downpour. The guy came back glaring daggers i said "Here's your sighn."

I got one for you, Bill: One summer, my family and I were heading up from Northeast Illinois to Northern Wisconsin (to a little town called Mercer) for our annual fishing trip. We stopped at the gas station by our house to top off our gas tank and get some snacks for the road. The cashier looked at the bass boat hitched up to my Dad's truck and asked, "You going fishing?" I came up with a couple of responses. The first one was, "Nope, the boat wanted to go on vacation, so we're bringing it with. Here's Your Sign." The second one that I came up with a while later (and think is the funnier one) was, "Nope, we're off to a Redneck Viking funeral. Here's Your Sign." Had you not retired over a year ago, I would have totally given you permission to use that one in your act.

My favorite comedian of all time. Thanks for posting such great memories.

When I was younger I spent several years working in a grocery store. I primarily worked as the attendant for the self-checkout. Our self-check was located at the end of the long row of regular checkstands, so there was one regular checkout right next to the self-check. A lady once started yelling at me about how there was nobody at that checkstand to ring up her groceries. I told her "That's because that checkstand is closed, ma'am." This made her more upset, and she demanded of me "Well, how was I supposed to know that?! There's no sign saying it's closed!" I looked at the checkstand. Mentally, I noted that there was no employee standing at the register (generally a good sign that a checkstand isn't open), that the light for the checkstand used to indicated if it is open or closed was turned off (a pretty universal "this checkstand is closed" sign), and that a freestanding, wheeled bread display had been placed in front of the checkstand, blocking the entrance to it (also generally a good sign that a given checkstand is not in operation at that time). But the lady was correct that there was no sign. So I reached behind the first self-check machine, grabbed the "This checkstand is closed" sign for that machine, placed it at the front of the other checkstand, and - with a glee in my heart that it took a truly Herculean effort to keep out of my voice - said "Here's your sign, ma'am."

Too funny! Your content still cracks me up! Being an RN (formerly in the ER) and a former firefighter/paramedic, I’ve had soooo many “Here’s your sign” moments!!! Thanks for making me laugh when I needed to and cheering me up when I wanted to cry. Keep the content coming! ❤

You have always been one of my all time favorite comedians in history. Had the blessing of seeing you on the Blue Collar Comedy tour part two AND Them Idiots tour. My ribs hurt for DAYS after you and the boys were done. My favorites are colonoscopy, marijuana brownies (I still want to know how THAT explanation went 🤣), your son describing a condom, and Vicodinland. So many of your here’s your sign jokes are super relatable- especially the locking the keys in the car one… guilty!!

My ex-husband worked for a heavy equipment rental business. One day he was to take a crane to Pontiac and his boss told him to take the expressway to get there. He was skeptical about the crane hitting overpasses, but boss reassured him that it would be fine. I went with him, and sure enough, it got stuck under the overpass, knocked the next exit sign clean off (go figure, eh?) When the police arrived, they asked Kevin what happened. H deadpans "I was moving this overpass and ran out of gas." Luckily, the police had a good sense of humor and laughed - and didn't write us a ticket lol. Come to think of it, I wonder who took the blame for the sign.......Thanks Bill - we laugh about that to this day - family lore lol.

I was at Macy's, waiting in line to pay for my purchase. The cashier was helping the customer ahead of me when a WOMAN and two little GIRLS walked up and asked the cashier where the restrooms were at. He looked right at her and said " women's?" I couldn't help myself. All of a sudden, out of my mouth came, "Here's your sign". My sister, who was standing off to the side, waiting for me to finish, doubled over laughing and had to leave the store.

Planes hit deer more often than most people would think, especially in the more rural/small-town airstrips.

Reminds me of the time we went into a Country Kitchen Restaurant we had our camo and orange . She ask us if we were deer hunters .... yep but we didn't say it ! Instead I ask her if she had a boyfriend or husband or know anyone that could point us towards a good hunting area.. she takes our order and comes back with a napkin with a phone number on it .. she's Cute ... thinking I'm going to get lucky .. well we got lucky alright but not the way you think .. the number was for her Grandpa. And we called him after church the next day and went out to his place for lunch ... after a bit of talking and the snow getting closer he showed us where to get some deer .. 2 in 15 minutes after he drove away. And we was invited back for the next 20 years ... 160 acres all ours . I could excuse her first question ... thanks .. Kari H. If you read this .... your Grandpa Jubal was a Great Man !

All right well I’m back. Where is the funny part now you talk about here’s your sign you ever see people drive the wrong way down the road and you think you know if I had a sign I would give them one because they deserve it because I wonder what in their brain decides to go the wrong way first I think is this From a different country and that’s how they drive there but it looks weird to us. I don’t know maybe it’s just me you having an older you know I’m 41 years old. Oops I said my age. Oh well I don’t look and I guarantee you that I look so young I make people laugh. I should be a comedian. I should be a funny man like you or Tim Allen. But here’s the funny part so I might’ve said this before but I just gotta say it again because people that will read this when I kick out of this… So I go to my local shopping place and it never seems to fail or amaze me almost every time I go in there for something they’re serving alcohol like a taste testing thing right so I woke up to the counter and the lady says sir I don’t think you’re old enough to drink. I said I will show her. I pulled out my ID before I did that. I asked her I said, ma’am how old do you think I am she said sir I think you’re about 12 years old by the looks of it , I said well thank you very much but you’re wrong. I showed my ID she was like wow you must be dragging the fountain of youth you look so young I said thank you very much and she had of me my alcoholic beverage, and it was very good by the way but that’s just that’s just the stuff I deal with Bill. It’s I can’t make this stuff up. Like really quickly here’s another scenario I go down the train station stairs to wait for the train to go home about six months ago and one of the school kids says to me and I “do you go to our school you look like one of our freshman so I said to him I said, how old do you think I am I quote he said to me I think you look 12 years old. I left my butt off I pulled my ID out showed him And boy they were laughing at the end of it. They felt so embarrassed, but in the end we all had a good laugh about it that’s what you Gotta do in life you got a laugh about things the little things in life you know because no one’s guaranteed tomorrow. Enjoy what you got today. Hug your family hug your friends hug your dogs and cats because nobody’s guaranteed tomorrow, unless if you’re like in a different country than it already is tomorrow time zone difference boy I hate that I hate that when you go to different state and it’s not your time zone but it’s an hour difference of two hours ahead. Doesn’t it just throw off your clock your sleeping schedule the whole thing I hate that you know what they got to get rid of. They got to get rid of the time change daylight savings time who won the world thought of that stuff marketing people do you know back in the early days I guess they decided to go for a trial run and decide to say hey let’s try this thing and say let’s decide not to do time change for a while and see what happens People I guess were opposed to it and they didn’t want it so they got it back to the original time long story short they have to do that I’m tired of changing my clocks although all my clocks pretty much are automatic anyway, it’s still a pain in the butt anyway Bill, sorry for long it being so long-winded but I got a lot to say.

Seems like a lot of people just found this guy. He was really big in the south in the early 2000’s he had a show that was like mtv ridiculousness but for rednecks. He was basically the rob dyrdeck of the south without a skateboard. Every episode of the show he had a segment where he talked about people doing dumb shit and he gave them a sign. Here’s your sign, no clue what it meant or why they earned a sign but that shit was mad funny. Edit: it was americas funniest home videos for rednecks but a bit more edgy
