Solich with his players, beat 1 ranked team (#24 OSU) in his last 28 games. With his players 16-12 and then dumbed that mess on to Callahan Callahan 2004, all were Solich's recruits 2005, S, J, Sophs Solich's 2006 S, Juniors, Solich's. Remove those bowl wins and you record was 8-13 in bowls. Big 8 validation sucked, huh. Solich and Pelini both avged at least 9 win seasons, but got fired. The worst of it was Callahan's effect on the Team as whole. Players that were played were the ones that were recruited by means of Game Film Dominance & Top talant, and that had Football Instinct & Heart. Callahan flipped it however, Guys played because they helped Callahan's political maneuvering, or brown nosed him, & would Pretend PASSION, AND Heart From M-F at practice but when Game day came the first Series gets stuffed-shamed, & all sudden they on sidelines quiet 🤫 looking confused 😕 & scared to fight for real. They would then start to skeem up some deflection tactic, & pick out another teammate & side eye smuck stare them as if they were at fault for us being humiliated & would do this in coaches vicinity, so that they could see 👀 you were upset as much as them at mates bad play. Pathetic

If Callahan was Fired after the “Jest Coast Offense” only beat “MAINE” at Home, only by 17 points???🤔 Failahan did not know is Buttocks from his Elbow. Between the pathetic non football related training, except for Weight Training, was a sort of joke. There purpose seemed more about punishing the team by running countless long distance intervals beyond exhaustion & if any missed there would be a separate morning retakes for those individuals. That basically removes the team aspect of the game to a discombobulation of the entire program. The intention in the beginning was to root out the players who did not want to play bad enough, which in some delusional thought pattern may make sense, but why continue the nonsense style training after the fact & completion of the initial period. It would be like doing a summer style conditioning practice day before the super bowl, or “CHANGING THE GAME PLAN, A DAY BEFORE THE SUPER-BOWL” Cough 2001 Raiders Cough!

The man should never been hired solich should have never been fired that's what irritates me about these younger generations alot of them just have no common sense period!!! And solich getting fired was the beginning of the decline of nebraska football and its become a long painful journey to get nebraska football to get it back and it seems everytime were on the road to recovery some genius fires a coach pushing us in the right direction like pelini he should have never been fired hopefully they'll give a frost a chance to turn us around!!!

Solich was 16-12 from the CO loss in 2001 with HIS recruits. No longer was he able to ride the train with Osborne's recruits. How many conf championships does Solich have now with 21 years of coaching? And wasn't he supposed to own the MAC? What is his bowl record?

@@robjohnson8861right since Solich's firing let's look at the great success at Nebraska since then. Callahan 2 losing seasons 60 point loss which is still largest in school history, including the 5-7 in his final year, majority of his guys yet suffered huge losses including allowing 76 points to Kansas. Bo Pelini 67-27, only bad loss was 2012 Big 10 Championship. But kept having 9-10 win seasons Mike Riley 2 losing seasons, 4-8, 2nd largest loss in school history by 59, momentum never picked up after the 23-17 loss to Wisconsin in 16 which carried into 17. Plus Mike Riley hiring never made sense, even national media questioned it. Scott Frost, homegrown, thought to be savior, unfortunately never amounted to nothing, 16-31. Matt Rhule in now, 3-3, he's a builder so hopefully gets it's going but still brings Osborne, Solich for advice. He wants them here. What that shows so far Nebraska since Solich has had maybe 1, hopefully 2 good hires since Solich firing. I think I speak for college football fans that we are glad you aren't a Athletic Director because you sure would suck at your job lol

@sorney98 There are clearly 2 Solich periods at Neb. 1) With Osborne's recruits, and. 2) With his. 42-7 and 16-12. Beat 1 ranked team in that last 28 games, #24 Ok St. So, with his recruits, he sucked. And then Callahan inherited those players. Callahan 2004, all were Solich's recruits 2005, S, J, Sophs Solich's 2006 S, Juniors, Solich's. Callahan didn't stand a chance with Solich's FU's. Putting it all together. * 42-7 before CO, then 16-12 after. * 9 wins that last season but only 1 was ranked (Ok St) and they finished unranked. * 1-9 against ranked teams on the road * worst loss at home in 40 years, first non-winning season in 40 yrs * lost to Synder while ranked in the top 10. Synder was 5-36 against top 10 teams * losing bowl record at Neb and Ohio * 1 conf championship in 20+ yrs Neb was spot on in firing him.

He has beaten 1 top 20 team (#19 Navy), or 2%. Frost beat 2 top 20 teams in his 35 lifetime wins, or 6%. It will be a decade before Rhule matches Frost's 6%. Ha, ha, ha. You B!

This should be critiqued to figure out how a coach can come from shit, sell shit , and too many people bought the shit he was selling week after week. He was disgracing Nebraksa football more than it had ever seen in 118 years. He was breaking worst records of embarrassment domination. Somehow the excuse of , Lack Of Talanted Recruits was his go to Shit Sandwich Special, that gave Valentinos a run for its money... Truth is, Nebraska had loads of talented athletes that never seen the field once ? Never Put out there to see what they made of... They were jusy hidden & labeled as Not Good Enough-Callahan Standards Chart.

You know, you typed a bunch of words there without 1 single fact. Who cares about your emotion. Callahan inherited a bad FING team. @robjohnson8861 oh really yet explain why Callahan was 5th choice on the list? Also why majority of Solich's guys gave Callahan his best years? Oh wait because they actually were good players.

@robjohnson8861 so far you type a bunch of bs, yet so far you bring no facts Nebraska was right for firing Solich. Yet they weren't because so far firing two 9 win coaches hasn't done Nebraska any good and has shown. Maybe there's reason you're in mommas basement and not Athletic Director. You would suck at the job
