I'm 51 years old and Bill Bonds was there for me my whole life, no matter what was going on in Detroit, Bill would come on the television and tell us what was happening and you just knew he was like some sort of protective measure put in place. I have nothing but respect and reverence for Mr Bonds and my heart goes out to his family and friends. Thank you Bill, see you on the other side.

Man, I can’t believe you r comment touched me. He was a great man. Channel 7 without Bill Bonds, Not the same. It’s true with Channel 4 as well, They don’t have Mort Crim or Carmen Harlan no more.

"Hard-working news department." That pretty much doesn't exist anymore. RIP Bill. Thanks for your journalistic excellence.

News is in badly need of folks like Bill Bonds, simply for the fact he doesn't do & never did mainstream media.... And for the record: I woulda paid tickets & went 2 the streetfight 🏆

I remember when he anchored at KABC-TV in Los Angeles; a pro's pro. When journalism was made with a capital "J."

He then later that week checked into rehab for a month. In a interview with Mayor Young he wished Bill the best. The last question they asked the Mayor who would've won the fight. He said {I would've kicked Billy boy's ass."
