@@troym.reaves5935 it was just time. Nobody loves Bill more than I do, but he and the Patriots needed a fresh start. Who knows... maybe his coaching style just won't work for this new generation. Doesn't take away from the fact that he had probably the greatest 20 year run in sports history. Brady and Belichick were both great, but they made each other better. Belichick was possibly the only coach who wanted to draft him at all. He also was probably the only coach who had the balls to keep him in and keep Bledsoe on the sideline. So it wasn't all Brady. It's totally possible that, without Belichick, almost nobody outside of Michigan would remember him. Bill gave him the chance to blossom.

@@moheganson _ How is the greatest GM in NFL history and the greatest coach "horrible" and "mediocre"? That makes no sense. He made no names into Hall of Famers. Brady was a lowly 6th rd pick. Malcolm Butler made millions because BB gave him a tryout. Edelman. Slater. He's drafted 6 or 7 other Hall of Fame players beyond Brady. He invented the Cap Era recipe on how to build teams over and over and over. He was so great, the Jets owner hired a commissioner to try to slow him down by making up stories to feed the media to take draft picks. It's how Pats fans knew Deflategate was also a framejob. It's so awkward watching you people years later still look like complete fools, just riddled with jealousy. We can only imagine how many more rings they would have had without Goodell's shenanigans hiding behind the owners' cheating from 345 Park Ave. It's the stuff of legend. Yet, you claim he's "mediocre" or "horrible". You may want to reach out for form help from a professional. You people need it. This is like saying Red Auerbach was mediocre or horrible. Makes absolutely no sense.

I'm thankful I was alive on this planet during the time in history when I got to witness the Brady/Belichik duo from start to finish. Before Brady/Belichik, it was Breaking News whenever the Patriots actually made it into the playoffs. Of course, we never expected the Pats to actually get to the Superbowl, but it was still fun that they made it to the playoffs. That all changed during the Brady/Belichik years. The playoffs were just assumed. And getting to the Superbowl became an expectation during those years.

The New England Patriots were a really good team on Offense and Defense for a really long time. Those players at the time should all be proud of themselves because we are. Really hope the future brings us back to the level of play the fans are used to. Forever Pats! Go pats!

I just cried for bill belicheck. Man this is so hard to watch but also so awesome. Being from New England, this team has meant so much to me growing up and for my entire life. Im so blessed. I just wish my dad was here to see this. He’s the reason I became a life long Boston fan. Love you dad. There will never ever ever be another dominant NFL team in the history of the game. I miss it so much.

Every single all time great head coach in the history of the NFL wouldn't be who they are remembered as without a great or hall of fame QB and vice versa. Lombardi had starr, walsh had montana, reid has mahomes, i could go on and on. The fact that bill got a standing ovation for 2 minutes or so is absolutely what he deserved if not more. Two of the greatest of all time who should go in the hall together
