One of the best episodes of Black Books was when Simon Pegg guest starred with his doottity doo card

100% agree! The best thing about that character is how easy it is to relate to having such a petty boss like that! They're everywhere xD "today was a silver star day! but tomorrow i want gold!" xD

I loved Spaced, mainly because when it was first broadcast, I was living away from home in London. We smoked things we shouldn't have. We were skint and young and we didn't care! Spaced was our lives at the time!

@@evieslovelychannel I was too young to apperciate The Young Ones and (blasphemy!!) I was never fan once I did see it. Spaced spoke to me and my pals. Well made, silly, loads of pop culture references, Mary Jane and odd ball characters. The was a life I could understand!

@@davidlean1060 I saw the first episode the night it was broadcast for the first time. I watched it and thought "This is for me. No-one else will get this. For some reason these people have made a show just for me!" It was the first time that I watched something that had been made BY our age group FOR our age group. And not in a pandering, patronising way. Your reference to The Young Ones is spot on. Spaced was OUR show, it was our Young Ones.

77 certainly was a good year for the roses with the triple score of Star Wars, Punk rock and (for me) 2000ad! Hey, I was 13! You're allowed to think that way at that age. 'Course I've grown up scince then... Ahem...

Bill Bailey Interviews Simon Pegg 1737pm 10.5.23 i would probably gain more form this if i listened to these interviews in chronological order - hence the schtick of passing the baton on to their other as they, the interviewed, becomes the interviewer(s)... i dont mind any of the celebs utilized for this series and i hope it's still going strong.. etc etc etc etc....

What he said about Star Wars being necessary after the defeat of Vietnam is funny, Because according to George Lucas, Star Wars is an analogy to Vietnam, and the US's analog is The Empire, while the Rebels represent the Vietnamese Front.

Spaced was possibly the best comedy series ever. Hot Fuzz was the funniest film ever IMO. Simon should remember that the interviewer was once his boss though. I had the pleasure of working with BB's old comedy partner, Toby Longworth a couple of times.
