While technically true and certainly true of the "WW" movie, "BaTEA" and "Wayne's World" were released at the same time (one day apart). "BaTEA" Feb 17, 1989 and the first episode of "Wayne's World" aired Feb 18, 1989. Though if I was to get nitpicky... Wayne Campbell first appeared in "Wayne's Power Minute" on the show "It's Only Rock and Roll" in 1987. 😁

Not enough people give props to Billy the Kid and Socrates for not only rolling with the time travel like it's no big deal from the very start, but also for becoming good friends in the background and saving Bill & Ted from the medieval executioner, and remaining buds to the very end of the movie.

It was hard not to see Keanu as anything but an "airhead" back then. But it was Point Break that made me see Keanu in a new light. It was a glimpse of things to come. Even though he gets a lot of haters for his acting, he puts in a solid performance depending on the project. He was legit good in Point Break Speed. I think his best performance is from 1997s Devil's Advocate. He actually was able to hold his own opposite Al Pacino. Very underrated movie.

I first saw him in River's Edge (with Dennis Hopper), before I watched Bill & Ted. It's a long time ago, but as far as I remember, that was a pretty serious movie. And even when he played a problem kid in that one, I didn't feel any "airhead"-vibe.

The film I think truly broke his "airhead" good guy image for me was Street Kings. The opening when he goes on this racist rant against some Korean guys then hunts them down and blasts them dead was eye openingly shocking to me. Go find it and watch it yourself to see what I mean.

Keanu has always asked first in his roles whether he has to cut his hair or not, because he loves to keep his long hair. For some roles he's agreed to cut his hair, but as you will see most of the time he gets to keep his long hair. Let's put it this way: If you give Keanu two films to choose between, and one implies he has to cut his hair, he will choose the one where he doesn't. Because he's a fucking rocker and he loves to have long hair!

One of my top five favourite movies of all time, my brother and I watched this movie so much as kids, it basically taught us most of our vocabulary lol (between this, the original Ninja Turtles movie and Wayne's World). I always see Bill and Ted as brilliantly stupid- like they're idiots, yet also smart. For the longest time, this was the role Keanu was best known for, to the point he was quoted as saying he was afraid they would write on his tombstone "He Played Ted". He and Alex Winter became best friends while making this movie and still are to this day. Also, not sure anyone said it but the main future guy (the big black one of the trio) was played by Clarence Clemons, aka the saxophone player from Bruce Springsteen's backing band The E Street Band.

It is funny to look back and know that he was seen as an airhead for so long. Meanwhile, earlier this year German scientists named bacterial compounds they discovered “keanumycins” because they are so skilled in evading predatory amoebas and slaughtering enemies like the character John Wick that they decided to name them after Keanu Reeves. I can't make this up! Lol😁🥰

Another great comedy with Keanu Reeves is "I Love You to Death". It also has River Phoenix (who you guys saw in Stand By Me). Two others of his that would be fun for you to see are Devil's Advocate (thriller/horror) and Sweet November (romantic drama). Both have him in (very different) on-screen relationships with Charlize Theron.

I fully credit Bill & Ted with my wife and I getting together. In college I went home for a weekend and my high school friends and I all went to see this. I thought it was horrible. A week later I met my future wife while on a date with another girl. The next day I was in her dorm room (wife, not the other girl) and we talked for hours. I told her how bad this movie was, and then one of her friends stopped by to see if she wanted to go see the movie. We looked at each other and burst out laughing. She chose me over the movie. That was 34 1/2 years ago and we’re still together. Oh, and the movie kinda grew on me, I love it now.

Bill and Ted came out after Back to the Future, but it was actually written a few years before as "Bill & Ted's Time Van." The writers tried to get the movie made for several years and were even fired from the agency that represented them because they thought the script was so bad. They modified the script over the next few years and the movie did eventually go into production, but the studio financing it went bankrupt before it was finally completed. Two years later it was picked up by another studio who finished it and reshot the entire end sequence where they have everyone show up on stage for their final report. BTW... regarding a certain word said at 20:03, Ed Solomon (one of the two creators) later apologized for using it in the Bill & Ted franchise, saying that they were ignorant to the actual meaning and thought it was nothing more than "surfer language" from that era that the characters would say. And on that note, the two waiters who come out at the ice cream parlor with the "Ziggy Piggy" button are the two writers of the film. Make sure to check out the sequel, Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey. If Excellent Adventure is an example of movies from the 80s, Bogus Journey is definitely an example of movies from the 90s.

I have suggested them a few times but I think you would enjoy the first two Beatles films, the first one is A Hard Days Night and the second is called Help! They are both a bit silly and they both reflect (at least what is perceived to be) their personalities. In fact it was during the filming of the first one that George met his first wife, the model Patty Boyd…who later left him for his best friend Eric Clapton.
