He was a great rider too, in his day.
James Whitham the most clued up common sense intelligent man in the sport😁
Many things make BSB such a great series; of course James would never be the first to bring it up, but the combination of James and Jack commenting on the races is deffinitely part of the appeal for me...

Ah, too funny. That's like in the US when they have Scoot Russell commentating with his heavy southern accent, yikes.
Another contributing factor is the spectacular British tracks!

I think it's good. It keeps the middle of the season interesting and you're not just focused on the top 3 riders. I thought it sounded wank but in practice it's cool.
Great racer..and a sensible, sorted and wise head. Being a nice fellow is a bonus. WF
A great video, I enjoyed this.
Brilliant conversation ‘bout racing.
Where BSB wins hands down is that the BSB championship is brilliant but the support classes are just as important and exciting with the Superstocks and Supersports all the way down and most people only go to WSB for WSB races. Also the Saturday WSB races only add to the cost, the old Sunday system was a full price ticket for the Sunday and you could get into the Saturday practice day for a few quid. This is still the case in BSB.
In the late nineties the so called Thunderbikes series (600cc) were killed of because it got to be more popular and exciting than the 500GP. Ecclestone did that btw.
What i would love to see, its a more production oriented series but ! Throw the capacity limits out !!! Plus let the 2strokes in. I would even allow turbo or compressors in. In cars, you are never limited by capacity or natural aspiration, thats why road cars are catchin up with road bikes. Bikes were always held up by 1 liter limit. And basing it closer to production spec would give us better machinery on the street ! But give manufacturers enough time to prepare for it. 3 years at least.
Spot on boys! Wsb should go back to more stock bikes without electronic riding aids, old school superpole on saturday and 2 races on sunday!!!
JW always makes a fantastic point!
100% spot on, tbh i've stopped watching MotoGP and WSBK just for the fact is so predictable, each season I just fall in love with BSB over and over

You missed out on one hell of an amazing season in MotoGP. BSB is fantastic, but you cut off your nose to spite your face.

Fivespeed 302 each to their own i suppose, i just find it boring
BSB is an incredible series. The sport world-wide has diminished since the 80's-90's, and we can only hope to see it restored. He said a mouthful when he mentioned Spain...
This is the best video ive seen so far he hit the nail on the head but but the gsxr 600 won all out in Australia and with the non electronics old bikes. Have a chance but bsb and asbk are my two fav because you never know who is gonna win it started out jg the be wiser now iddons makin a run
Jamie whitham is a legend him and Jack burnicle are the best comms team
Thank you for saying this about the money and making it a level playing field instead of being just whose has the most money to burn. I do like the idea of a part catalog so the riders all using the same price of parts. I do like the idea of back yard engineers very cool to let people have the freedom to create.
Supernaked class with a power and weight limits . That's the way to go . No T.C and road tyres
Spot on chellies.. bsb has been amazing.. j rea is amazing give him a proper moto gp bike!! N il have his kawasaki please
Brill James
James forgot to say if you want a factory bike in motogp you need to get a Spainish or Italian passport
BSB ROCKS the people running this show are genius the fans love the racing, and even shakey grudgingly realises how important that is. As soon as one rider is untoppable in points, the show is over, and am sure we all want it close to the last race if poss.
I think these boys are deluding themselves saying this is BSB golden age that was in the early 2000s the showdown rules have ruined BSB for me come mid season a lot of the riders run around just to get in the top 6.The nations running Superbike championships need to get together to come up with one formula for all that’s competitive and cost effective bring back wildcards that can enter WSBK and compete stop all the silly showdown rules reverse grids, one ECU for all and get back to basics racing.
no reason for WSBK to be anything more than Superstock rules. anyone paying attention to the engineering cycle to see what's been homologate over the past 20 years knows what's currently being raced were already SUPER bikes as they sat on various showroom floors more than a decade ago. thus what's been homologated in the 21st Century (think R1, think S1RR, think RSV4, and the coming Panigale V4R) are actually the equivalent of homologated MOTOGP bikes. with the 30 year celebration of the RC30 happening this past weekend during the Classic TT, those who were around 20 and 30 years ago and benefit from a context of HISTORY must openly admit NONE of us foresaw kit the average punter can buy today as being "mass produced".
WSB started as a “modified road trip bike” series. It’s moved waaaaaay off that, so go back to *dumber* rules/simpler bikes.
It'$ A££ about 1 thing....
I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels rider aids have killed the sport.

I think the point here is the 'expense' of the aids.
Enjoy BSB the same as MotoGP, sometimes more. WSB is boring sad to say..
