As someone who rides a motorcycle (and drives a car as well), I can tell you that painted lines on roads are very slippery in the wet. Painting all the way across with those lgbtqlmtvw+7 flags makes the road unsafe for motorcycles in the wet and can also be dangerous to car / truck drivers in the wet as well. You could say that that rider was making it safer by putting down some rubber (increasing grip)

Obviously symbols have connotations, that's how they fucking work. The rainbow is not just a rainbow anymore, it now denotes a sexual meaning.
