I found the Wahoo roam 2 is way more robust ,but I only need it for navigation.

Fantastic video Richard. Only a Yorkshire man could manage that ride.

On the Komoot list ready for when the good weather arrives, if it ever does! (Might also wait until later in the year when the foliage has died back a bit!)

Good video sir. Some parts of the route look like tracks I end up on when I take a wrong turn😊. What phone navigation app were you using?

I use RideWithGPS paired with Garmin 540 solar. Sometimes I'll create places of interest along the route and use voice navigation as a backup. This time I just downloaded the route from cycling uk and went.

The only bike I use these days is a ALT bike 29 x 2.25 with a pinion belt drive .Yes they are more expensive but then you only need one bike .I find it covers everything & very little maintenance.

At some point before I went to the Canaries in April the top of the outer casing began to loosen - visually it looked fine but heard shaking. So whilst I was over there I used a zip tie to hold it firm. It never rained there - as soon as I got back to the UK and got caught out by the rain - some water had seeped through.

UK "gravel" eh! I wonder though, do you think there is anywhere else in the world where you an ride thousand year old 'traditional' rights of way, long defunct drovers roads and byways, old canal towpaths, recently abandoned rail routes, and just occasionally that real 'true' hero gravel? Heck, even our roads offer a certain 'off' road feel! Lucky us! 🙃
