Bikepacking the At-Bashi Circuit in Kyrgyzstan
We launched another route in Kyrgyzstan! This route is called the At-Bashi Circuit, after the At-Bashi mountain range it loops around. This 436km route was designed to be entirely ridable while providing great adventure with little infrastructure and remote river crossings in the mountainous heart of Kyrgyzstan.

What a beautiful calm and informative video. The cinematic quality is outstanding. I really appreciate the way you tell the story and take along with you on your journey. As I said, I went to 🇰🇬 in 2016, back then hiking for two weeks. Next time I want to bring my bike and go bikepacking.

Impressive video. 10 out of 10. While watching until the end, I had goosebumps all over my body. Once again, thanks for everything you are doing. 👏 Just one small suggestion. It would be helpful to see on the video a small map where the footage's location was recorded. Cause it helps to visualize while watching and helps to find nice spots to look to make similar stunning footage as yours when I am riding the same route. (at least come closer) 🤘

Nice one! Thanks! And by the way buckwheat is actually very popular in Eastern Europe. You can buy in two forms - roasted (which you were using) and not roasted which has much more delicate taste.

Awesome video once again . I am happy to see Bella is fitted better on her new bike, as her hips are not rocking and legs reaching. I do like the easy listening music which is not irritating. You are riding in mostly deserted areas, we will not likely ever get to. I noticed that you are not swatting mosquitos,, are there many? It would be nice if you flashed up the temps once in a while. :) Backtracking, ugg!! I love your matter of fact comments and no complaining or arguing, which I do see in some other videos.

Stopping just outside a large metropolis area is a wise idea. I discovered this for myself back in 1977 bicycling north up from California to Canada and have used it ever since. It gives you time to go shopping and to find whatever you are looking for. :)

@@tristanbogaard I found that we get up early, ride for the first few hours to get warmed up, and about 9am eat some trail mix (not coffee drinkers). We then ride till about 1 or 2 pm and get first choice of camp sites. Otherwise we stop for an hour and have lunch and ride for a few more hours, it all depends on wind and weather. :) We carry enough food for 7 days and water we walk into the lake and filter. We are on fatbikes with 4.8 inch tires so we are not moving fast. LOL

I have seen you at the video/instagram from the SRMR at Bishkek. Kiristan offers amazing landscapes! Could you say something about range of temperature you have meet at yor trip? Best wishes!
@tristanbogaard
Жыл бұрын
Right, we’ve been loving the rider’s stories and I might just join SRMR in 2023. The summer temperatures up around the At-Bashi range can hit anywhere between 0 and 30 degrees depending on the time of day and weather. This region gets cold quickly once fall sets in 😯
This is amazing. Would it be safe to ride solo?
@tristanbogaard
Жыл бұрын
Sure! Riding solo is alright as long as you’re male. If you’re female, it’s maybe a bit more challenging due to the culture and some men being pushy or overly interested. You’ll need a strong and confident attitude!

Nice to know! I'm in doubt with those two things, 29 or 27,and P. 12 or 18. The fact that 2.35 fits on the 29 is a plus. But I think 29 with 2.25 is already a nice choice for many types of terrain, and if you did Kyrgistan on it, should be fine. Thanks for the answer Tristan. Bedankt

It is such a shame you still do not have any action cams eg GoPro that show footage from the saddle as you are cycling from the perspective of the cyclist. As good as your videos are I feel this is now quite a big omission and it shows. Your videos would be so much better with footage from the saddle. You could also give commentary as you ride. Really sorry but your format has become boring. I try to mean this in a constructive way but realise you might not take it that way. For instance with a GoPro you could film a nice long descent or indeed a long climb. Your videos don't convey the visceral excitement you get from riding itself. All your shots are from the perspective of a spectator watching two cyclists or indeed one, which has become rather formulaic and unfortunately boring. I know you are sponsored by Olympus. Do you have an exclusivity agreement with them that means you cannot use other brands of photographic/video equipment? I simply cannot understand why you haven't got a GoPro or similar or even attempt to film with your phones? Even an iPhone will give pretty good video now.
@tristanbogaard
Жыл бұрын
Not sponsored by Olympus! I appreciate your feedback but we have different perspectives on the concept behind my videos. To give you some insight on my work: I film these videos, shoot photos of the route features and shoot photos for my personal use on Instagram / to expose the products I care about. This is already a full time job and commitment, and adding a GoPro to the mix means more hassle, more charging, more weight, and even less time to actually enjoy the ride. You might’ve noticed I don’t use a drone, which is for the exact same reason. My concept will probably evolve, but a GoPro won’t be a part of it anytime soon. Sorry to hear you’re bored, but fortunately there’s plenty of other cyclists using GoPros out there that you can watch instead.
Beautiful bikepacking video super 🚵♂️⛰🚴♀️🏕️❤️🌞👍
