Bikepacking 70 Miles in Idaho, A Real Sufferfest // Gravel Biking
Спорт
Subscribe! The four of us headed up to Idaho over the 4th of July weekend to do the Thunder in Paradise loop. The route is 100 miles and 11,000 feet split into three days. We certainly underestimated the effect that the heat and 15-20 lbs on our bikes would have. The first day was absolutely brutal. The second day was a lot better but we ended up bailing on the route do to a rain threat, and because none us were really enjoying the route anymore. We ended up with 70 miles and over 8000 feet.

Thanks for watching 😊
Awesome video! I'm planning some (admitedly) flatter multi day bikepacking trips soon.. but I've done a few one day ultra endurance races.. for sure that extra weight can add up!

Haha! Yeah I think the next thing we do will be flatter too... The weight is a killer going uphill
Just came across your video. Did Sun Valley through Rocky Bar to Atlanta the summer of 2019. I did that 150 miles on a Surly ECR with 29x3.0 tires. That was an ass kicker for sure at 61 yrs old! The Plus tires are nasty to climb with for sure, but cushy! Hahaha. Loved seeing the scenery again. Great video, keep it up. 10,000 foot passes and heavy breathing is good for all of us! lol PS. Atlanta rocks, especially the jail

Hell yeah that's awesome 😊 really tough climb! I think I would enjoy it more if the temps were cooler. Maybe I'll give it another shot soon
I did this route 2 years ago. Its a good one, definitely has some tough climbs.

Haha no way. Small world. How did your experience differ from ours? I want to go back this summer and ride in that area but when its cooler, bring a lot less weight, and prob not a holiday weekend when 4x4s are going to be ripping around

@@MacLeanWright About the same experience, we bailed at the same turn-off because we were gassed from that first day. I have thought about going back again as well, but I think I want to do more riding in the Stanely valley area - the grades aren't as bad and the mountains are just as rad, oh, and not as sandy.
Love the vids man! How do you like the grizl?
