Bike Touring the remote Mountains of Iranian Kurdistan
We cycle through the beautiful but very steep mountains of Hawraman region in the Kurdistan and Kermanshah provinces of Iran. The lifestyle in the rough landscape is so unique that it became a UNESCO World Heritage. It is so far off the beaten path, that the locals even speak their own Kurdish language, Hawrami, a dialect of Gorani. Expect some tough cycling!
We take you with us on a bicycle journey around the world and show it how we see it. We hope to inspire more people to go on great adventure themselves or if they can't, to get a sense of ours.

@AmazingWorldBikeTour
10 күн бұрын
Great question. We think on an extended journey like ours, especially through developing countries and very remote areas e-bikes are impractical. While it would certainly be possible, finding a wall plug can be tricky and would force us to stay with people ore in accommodation. Also, it adds a lot of extra complexity to the bicycles and fixing issues with the e-drive system would be next to impossible most of the time. However, we think in many countries and other styles of bike touring, e-bikes can work very well.

I am glad to see you in these territories in warmer months. In winter, these roads are packed with snow and ice and do not recommend biking in Winter as the risks are too high. The only wild animals that may be roaming are occasional wolves and please be prepared. The regular police is very nice. The only bad forces in ran are the IRGC and the Basij Militias that have NOTHING to do with the regular armed forces of Iran. The Basij and IRGC (Sepah) are the terrorising private army of the Supreme Leader. In their oath of alligence the Sepah (IRGC) and Basij they promise to protect the Supreme Leader, his religious ideology and the Islamic Revolution, the Basij and IRGC have no allegiance to the country of Iran or the Iranian people, they are a force to protect the unelected Mullahs in Iran so they can steal as much as they can and continue their opperesion of the Iranian people and also support the terrorists in other countries using the stolen funds from the Iranian people without our permission.
