    It doesn't seem like a "blade" cuts the chain - I would expect a pin to push out a chain pin to separate the chain, just like how regular chain tools work.

    Superior engineering, a la Campagnolo. By the way Bryce, it's not overkill. Not by a long shot. Regret to no end that Rohloff pulled the plug on manufacturing. Theirs were simply beyond words.

    Very good demo of CHAIN manufacturing including Tumbling ( bur removing ), plating of outerlinks. The quality measures covered in process is must for this type of process which was covered GOOD. S S Rao.

    @Swordguyman there are companies around the globe, specializing in industrial mass-production machinery, those companies have engineers designing systems that can perform either one, or a series of tasks. when the design is complete, the individual parts for a prototype are manufactured and assambled. the machinery goes through a series of controls and tests to see how well it performs. if there are bugs or mishaps occuring, its back to the drawing board until a solution is found. roughly speakn

    lol that was freakin' awesome XD ... Hah ha ha, did not notice before that the inner links are not shiny. What was that coating again, nickle/teflon! So it turns out that to make bicycle chains you need to first make the machines that stamp out the pieces and the machines that put them together ... that is to say to mass produce them.

    BIKE CHAIN processing is good. The Sub presses(ball cage-aligned presses ),progressive operations,inline quality measures,tumbling,plating ..Chain assembling...very intresting. S S Rao

    "Cutting the chain" is not exactly right. The machine doesn't cut the chain. It breaks it at a specific point.

    these things can be genuine p.i.t.a ive been building custom chopper bicycles for little over 6 years now and i cant tell you how many times ive been to walmart to get 3 packs of chains to put one chain together and let me tell u from experience i still hate putting these together it took me 2 mins to take a link out and add 5 links and took me 30 mins to add one link lol i hate doing chains id like to kick who evers ass invented these darn things!!! lmao
