It still looks great Vinny! All the details and effort really show. When a fits perfectly, it's easy to make look good, but it takes skills to make one like this look so good!

Looks good Vinny, hope you finish it soon. Those AMT semi kits are old molds and lots of small pieces but you learn a lot about trucks.😊

hi David.... i just wonder how many others that have built this kit had the same issues... in all the vids i watched no one showed the build ...always segments or time lapse...i agree you do learn a lot by building models...i did a lot of research on all the air lines for the brakes & air suspension...one of these day i might finish it.. thx 4 watching & your comment... vinny

You did a good job Vinny. I built this kit in the original version had the same problems you had. I think they reproduce the same kit. I still have the same problems. A lot of the old AMT truck kits had a lot of the same problems and they reproduced them all and never fix the problemsbecause it wasn’t a lot of people out there making semi trucks, tow trucks, firetrucks, etc. don’t get you down. You did a great job on the build. Thanks for sharing Bob.

hi Bob... welcome... hope you stick around for better models from me...this kit was a nightmare...this kit challenged me from start to where it is now... the instructions suck.. any pre-drilled holes had to be enlarged... adding the front bumper then the hood wouldn't open because it hit the bumper & finally the hinge breaking was the straw that broke the camels back... kit challenged me from start to where it is now... thx 4 watching & your comment... vinny

Vinny, that sucks about that kit. Sometimes it's best to walk away and come back to it later. It still looks pretty good👍

hi Joe... i was/am so close to the finish line.. when the hood hinge broke .. that was the final straw ... i was starting to wonder if it was me... but when a pre-drilled hole has to be enlarged or the hood not to operating after you install the front bumper in it's proper location ... that's the poor QC .. thx 4 watching & your comment... vinny

Wow. You've had a battle there. I would suggest drilling and pinning the exhaust and rebuilding hinge with sheet but I don't know what you could do about bumper except for extending the mounts out further🤔. I haven't got one to look at but others have built it,I'd see what's on other yt vids.Thanks for showing and best wishes for your next build👍😎Pete 🤓

Hi Vinny. You got there in the end. I,m sorry that you didn,t enjoy the build. I don,t do trucks but I know that there is a lot to them. Also I model small scale 1/72nd so one of my trucks is about as big as the fuel tank on your truck. I like the paint job and the hood decals. Look in your stash and see if you have something that you will enjoy. Get back the love my friend. There's nothing worse than thrashing away at a deadend. But well done and don,t be to dissapointed. @@dacuzzz6951 Hi Vinny. Thankyou for your reply. I agree with you. There is not a single kit that I have made over the decades that didn,t have some issue's. I always say now that I never build a kit straight out of the box , there is always some problem or another. I do also do a lot of scratchbuilding. But that is through choice mainly but I do also do it because the part is a very poor representation of the real thing. I like you are a finescale modeller but unlike you I do it in the small scale. People often ask me "How did you do that ?" With patience. Something most modellers are blessed with. Kindest regards , Brian.

Sad to see you throw it in Vinny. There were a lot of problems on this one. I can say that AMT was never really my favorite brand of car or truck model. It seemed they were always molded in plain white for one thing. The paint job does look Awesome!! 🙂👍

It’s funny that two of the same kits can build totally different my wrecker gave me hardly no issues the frame was my issue other then that it was ok not great but ok sorry it fought you Vinny thanks for your support and trying it don’t look bad buddy k.u.t.g.w.
