Biggest Test For the Vintage Offroad Wrecker Yet
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Today I take my Dodge M37 vintage offroad wrecker to Make It Or Break It (MIOBI) to test it's new power steering and over all capabilities. The wrecker gets it's first rescue under it's belt.

If you want a slightly different perspective on this day check out the video on Ron's channel Misfit Toys: kzread.info/dash/bejne/qIN8s7Bmk7S0irw.html
Steve the only thing I could think of you needing for that truck are lockers even though it wasn’t necessary on this trip I am really impressed with this truck. You’re getting a lot of downed travel out of that suspension. It really flexed well and being its military truck ’m sure the gears are low. Great video I love old technology. I’m not a resto mod person. I think the joy of driving an old vehicle is the old technology but I would’ve put power steering on it as well.

I think the gears are 5:88, i have one and it’s a beast in the woods. I used it for cutting firewood and it didn’t care how bad the roads were.

I have a friend that restores M37’s. There are lock rite lockers available for them and locking hubs for the front axles. The factory tires on them were 9.00x16 which were 36 in tall. The factory speedo would work fine with the 37 in tires. You should try to locate a factory Braden winch and PTO and the factory winch bumper half’s for it.
Steve: "I may have trouble with this obstacle here..." 4wd wrecker: *yawn*
Paved roads weren't a thing in most of the world when that thing was made. Driver training is much cheaper than locking diffs.
One of the better M37 off road vids ive seen ,Army trucks really need some weight in the back to get the suspension to articulate ,my M37 has been in bits for 30 years hopefully i can get it back together before im too old to drive it,your vid gave me some incentive
The guy in the white Explorer is obviously a Rocket Scientist in real life.
Looks like a cool park
Really enjoyed this video, what a challenge. The M37 is a beast. I don't think the white Exployer will be picking the kids up at school anytime soon. Wonder how he will explain that to his wife?????
I like the team work
More of the Dodge please😊
Who else believes that offroading is the ultimate expression of freedom and escape?
The white Explorer with tractor tires sounds like it's running on 6 cyl
I’m not off-reader, but aren’t the tractor tyres the wrong way round on that Explorer? I thought the Vs were supposed to point forwards when looking at the top of the tyre.
Steve, your old Dodge truck ate the trail course. You, definitely found a gem of a truck. I would enjoy seeing more footage of truck.

Me too, I have an m37 that was a three generation project, grandfather, father, and me. Lots of good memories working on it with them.
I think the Dodge M37 did well. The power steering was a good addition. Looking at some of the others it seems that weight can be a blessing but also a curse! Even so I think most people had a good day. I enjoyed watching Steve, thanks for the adventure. 👍👍

Oh it is necessary haha, I have a 52' and it's a bitch to turn.
That was a lot of fun to watch! Your truck seems to have GOBS of torque.
"Badges? We don't need no stinkin' badges." (Locking diff) 🙂
Unrelated but still off road BaT has a 1960 Austin gypsy i thought you might be interested in. Ends in 7 days
I just discovered you today, I have a 1952 M37, I've seen photos of some things people have done with them over the years but not like this. I'll check out your videos and see what you did. I regeared my truck a couple years ago and now lockers are available, damn timing. I'm putting a 4BT in it now, I did power steering and disks before as well. I can't afford to do the lockers since the swap is the most expensive phase of this.

it looked like a fun day out.
Ol Dodge truck, slow and steady.
What is the purpose of those Explorers running the tractor tires backwards?
that thing is awesome, more videos please
Psysics and geometry seems to be a challenge for some😂
Sell me your truck, I like it a lot!!! Great driving and great truck
Were the guys in Fords having the hardest or most fun on the day?! *stir stir stir*
What steering set up did you use. A friend has 2 M37's. As we are getting older, the steering is becoming more of a problem.
@ThisWeekWithCars Remember the WRECKER GAMES ... As i understand it You do not need to partisepate in the "" games"" But you can Display you Wrecker.. and get Watched .. If you Partisepate well a Lot of New Subs might come You Way.. just a thought
I can't believe whatever state this is in allows this much tearing up the countryside, future erosion and mud pollution of the streams and rivers. Is that Dodge still running its side valve 230 six cylinder engine?
@ThisWeekWithCars

It's an old quarry so the damage was already done. Yes the Dodge still has the original flat head six.
I'm located in the Netherlands and also have a m37 wrecker. May I ask what steering setup you used and where did you get these adapters for the wheels?

@@ThisWeekWithCars thanks for the fast reply, this will definitely help me out. As finding original combat rims and suitable tyres is only getting harder by time. Love your videos of the m37, keep it going!
Need a Kinetic rope
Why are some of these vehicles propane powered? Or are one of y'all carrying a big gas grill.
@ThisWeekWithCars
10 ай бұрын
Because on an incline a gasoline carbureted vehicle will starve of fuel. With Propane the engine would run even upside down.
I am amazed how you 😮 don’t seem to realize that the M37 is a true built, off road vehicle, a combat vehicle, a soldier in metal uniform. You have beautiful civilian vehicles, but a soldier is not a civilian🫡🇺🇸
dig the channel but this seems silly.
Guys getting stuck and broken every five minutes on the trail: *Guy sitting in a wrecker "damn, that sucks. Hope somebody helps them"* FRICKEN USE IT.
