But if you are from a state like Texas, Florida, New York, New Jersey, California... is it really necessary to say which country you call home? 🤣

@Schnittwin no, it's because that's how we introduce ourselves to other Americans, so it's a habit.

The Austrian guy, who thinks other people see his country full of spies and corrupt, was not far from the truth. I've heard such things about Austria indeed :) And the man who said people see Afghanistan as violent country, constantly at war and full of terrorists, is sadly correct too. Many people see it like that.

When I lived in Germany, both Germans and other internationals would immediately assume I come from England when I say I’m from the UK and they hear my accent (it’s quite southern English because my mum is from Portsmouth). I’m from Wales. 😅 But they never know where Wales is! Very few did. 👀 Or they’d ask me ‘Are you from Scotland/Ireland?’ because of my curly red hair. 😆 (Although this is a compliment and I have ancestors from both of those countries so I don’t mind haha)

Let's be honest. Stealing is more of a British thing. It's a lifestyle in England to live off shoplifting and pickpocketing. And yes, in Britain everyone considers the Germans as Nazis

Both completely incorrect. Germans are viewed as being quite controlled in their thinking and outlook, but not literally as 'Nazis.' Typical European thinking that sh*tting on England makes you automatically sophisticated.
