BIGGEST POT IN LODGE POKER HISTORY ($420,400)

Ойын-сауық

The biggest pot in the history of Poker At The Lodge was played at a recent $200/$400 stream between KBM and Taras. KBM had Pocket Kings and went for max value vs Taras. Here are the biggest pots from that sick poker stream.

The Lodge Card Club is a members-only social club in Round Rock, Texas (just north of Austin). With 24/7 cash games and 2+ tournaments per day, The Lodge is THE place to play poker in central Texas. The Lodge Live is streamed every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday at 3PM CT.
You never know what you might see on The Lodge Live stream. You might see Pocket Aces vs Pocket Kings. You may see the nut straight lose to a full house after the board pairs on the river. There's a good chance you will see loads of straddles (and double straddles, and triple straddles). Players go all-in blind or play poker hands after looking at just one card. That's just what poker is like in Texas!
The stream regularly features Lodge owners Brad Owen, Andrew Neeme, and Doug Polk. Players like Rampage, Mariano, and Igor Kurganov has also graced The Lodge Live felt. And who knows? One day The Lodge may even host players like Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, Phil Ivey, or similarly huge poker names.

Does anyone know if Taras is Ukrainian? He has a somewhat popular Ukrainian name and it's pronounced TarAs (with the accent on the 2nd A not the first) some ppl just change the pronunciation of their names. Just curious I've never heard of this dude on the high stakes scene before these vids. This game is ridiculously deep

@18:57 "jam or fold".... ?!?!?!?! There are zero versions of jam that ever make any sense in that spot. You're never getting worse to call, or better to fold. It's a money bonfire to jam there. The explanation highlights why poker is profitable. "Super puke here if you flat, check river, and Taras shoves on you". He's right. It is a tough spot on the river if you call and then face a river shove (or big bet as we later saw). People hate facing tough spots. Even the announcer proposes that rather than face another tough decision, KBM should make a bad decision here. Players hate tough decisions more than they hate losing money. This is why aggression pays. It's also why it pays to know the players who know that aggression pays and give them some rope. Chapter 2 of my book is pending release on an HCL stream where I flame Dave Tuchman for the way he says "tournament".

So I think that micro stakes poker ($0.01/$0.02 $5 max) plays incredibly similar to super high stakes poker. No one cares about losing $5 over 10 minutes or 6 hours. In super high stakes, the richest feel the same. Anyone who cannot throw away $200k on one hand should not be at that table.

Off the bat, in order to highlight the gravitas of what I am about to say, I am probably the second most knowledgeable Poker player of all time - and I would be THE MOST knowledgeable were it not for the existence of 'The Font Of All Knowledge', the man who has had more 5 of a Kinds' than Doyle Brunson has had Pairs - you guessed it, the despicable Donald Trump. Why is it that Nik Airball, when he bluffs on the river and then gets called always has a look on his face, which his demeanour has the uncanny abilty to mirror, which says 'you had no reason to call' and therefore it must be rigged!!!! I have seen him do it a few times where he would be more willing to accept Donalds 5 of a Kind than the outrageous, insulting and unexplainable call someone makes!?!?!?!? Just for those Trump worshipers, it would probably be best that I make it clear that I am a 'being' (is that word OK - Woke people?) that drinks from the fountain of sarcasm, with the exception of the serious question I raised reagrding Llabria Kin.........to Trump. Sorry, simple question got lost in my insatiable appetite to talk in riddles and over complicate things like Ben Shapiro and Jordan Peterson love to do. PS (oops, even I gave myself a telling off for taking the piss - bit late and rude of me to say 'post script') love you Yanks but a great deal of you seriously need to do the long overdue bouncing off the far left and far right walls and make your way back to flanking centre!

Doug, please show more respect to other players during these big pots and be quiet when you’re not in the hand. The viewing experience is not great when you guys are loudly chirping and laughing about stuff completely unrelated as these guys are playing $100k+ pots. I’m convinced it also makes the tanking far worse because people can’t think with the distractions (the tanking is another big issue). You’re not the only player guilty of this, but as the owner of the room you set the tone and an example for the other players. Hustler doesn’t seem to have this issue at all especially in their bigger games. This stream has a bright future but can’t see myself watching regularly until these two issues improve
