Late reply... It's a display glitch. The game displays the loss of INT cumulatively (showing a gain of 0) when multiple levels are gain, but Peco does in fact have a few levels where he gains more than 3 INT (and thus has gains). He gains a total of 8 int using Fahl from 1->38.

@wobbuffet95 What exactly are you trying to accomplish? Just level up quickly? Then leave one alive and pump it with fire, reviving whenever he kills somebody with a physical attack. Equip Soul Gems if you have any for auto-revive.

@duo7777 ok ty but time did you use fire attack on the lava men?

@wobbuffet95 how many time did you use fire attack on the monster because i use 20 fire attack then i use ice attack to kill him off but i got 300 exp only from him.

haha, I noticed you linked my video here in the description. I'm flattered. You mention a party of 8 possible enemies? I have encountered five puff goeye's (sp?) before. maybe 6, I dont remember. But 8? As crazy as it is, I actually would like to see the max exp being made from that. However, it can't be done I think. You'd need high-experience monsters to begin with, or else you probably wouldnt have enough ivory dices (since you'd need much more than 12 ivory dices on low exp monsters).

Classic. But you want to manage your level ups for masters and appropriate stat boosts. 0:52 Look at that: Level 38 and only 3 agility.

There was a 372? exp gain from a Vulcan, 2 of the small lizards, and one giant Lizardman. It's pretty rare. This nonetheless is a good exp guide. :)

Any idea how many fire based attacks you should use? because it seems that there normal attacks do over 500 damage when I use to many -_- if I don't u lots than I don't get as much EXP just about 100 per battle.

@duo7777 I hope you're using fire attacks on Lava Men and not Vulcan. Vulcan can only be powered up once.

this is not recommended however, to maximize stats you want to manipulate Masters and stat boosting items so you have no negatives

I tried this exactly with Firerings, Fireresistance etc. But sometimes the Lavaman just 1hits me with a physical hit of 300 or more. Can this be avoided?

There's always Soul Gems and Manly Clothes, but that's it - best you can do is revive the fallen next turn. Meryleep!Rei can dodge more reliably than others. Maybe Garr or Peco on the tip of the attack formation can take a physical attack though? Around L30, they should have the bulk if they were trained under Fahl or something.

MoogleBoss Use Nina's Blunt und Shield several times before you attack the Lava Men with fire. It will soften their normal attacks greatly

That's true; Lava Men's psionic resistance is fairly low. For how long did the buffs/debuffs stay active in your experience?

They stay as long as active until Sanctuary is cast or the battle ends. Here a little guide for the buffs and debuffs. www.gamefaqs.com/boards/196817-breath-of-fire-iii/56789045 Also since the Lava Men's original stats cannot go above 999 they will have with 3x Blunt only 500 Atk, no matter how many times you heat them up. But as the guide says, the lower the INT of your enemy and the higher your INT is the more sucessfull you are with the debuffs, so starting to debuff them before applying fire is a must.

That's odd; I've been fairly confident that Protect/Shield have to be re-applied if a fight drags on for too long, at the very least. I recently read a discussion pertaining to BoF 4 mechanics which suggested that the Int differences account for only a third of the chance to connect with a debuff. Who knows, it just might be relevant to BoF 3 in one way or another.

(continued comment) And I dont recall any high level monster group existing. Maybe the goo king + minions, but then you would still have a bunch of goo titans, goo mages, eye goos etc.. so while in theory 8 enemies might be doable (still not sure), you simply would lack the means in doing so sadly :(

The most high level group consists of two lava man and one Vulcan, it's a tedious process - but every time you cast an fire spell/item on lava man he levels up each burn inflicted, but beware just leveling him up 3-4 times he will one shot any party member.. But you have to level up at least one lava man 19-22 times for a serious exp gain 65000+

I think you broke the game, that or peco is that badass of a pokemon, uhhh i mean Fried Onion...thing..>.> i was hoping in the time skip when you turn into an adult, that Peco would well change, no. Peco is peco. xD "PUukkyuuuu ueeeei"

@posslum510 In my opinion, I think its 15 times will bring him to the MAX Exp. Maybe you can make him stronger still, but maybe not.

I Understand that a Vulcan can only be "leveled" once, but how many times can a Lava Man be leveled?

It's a vid on that.. If you keep casting fire moves on lava man he levels up each move, but be cautious cause after 3-4 levels of lava man he will one shot your character's.. Just have a lot of ammonia's, ice attacks, and fire resistance.. His physical attacks going to wreck you regardless 😭😭

In other words bring soul gems too. They can be equipped on the fly in battle and bought and or copied in mass at the fairy village. You make them available by making a certain type of item shop. Good luck!

If you dont use Peco at all and wait even further, youll later fight a special mage. Peco will max out at 99 after the battle.

@MoogleBoss I've found things in this game that don't add up, before. Im playing through it now a 4th time and finding new wierd things i've never seen. In the bottom of angel tower i got stuck in this battle glitch.. EVERY 3 steps = a battle (and i was wearing holy mantle on ryu!). EVERY 3 STEPS lol it was very wrong, and of course, annoying.

BS no ones in the mt zublo volcano at lvl 12 this is using glitches or mods or something

@@MoogleBoss is there a benefit to skipping the fights early on. like does it help to get the masters knocked out easier or to build ryu in a different way like with the faire master to get ryu a agility beast?

@@MoogleBoss another thing im confused about how come you can take down two lavamen and still get the same amount of xp if you only take down one? and how come when i do the lavamen trick it only gave me like 22k xp after hitting them 20 times with the molotovs

@@stucclikechucc It takes more strategy and preparation. Depending on your ruleset (e.g. do you allow Faerie Village?), you may struggle against solo Ryu bosses like Garr, Gaist or Arwan. But this isn't exactly the hardest game ever. You don't really need to minmax the masters to sweep the game. A Ryu with Bunyan and D'lonzo levels will have more than enough power and speed to outspeed most of the game and end a random encounter in a single Blitz action (kind of a boring way to play the game tbqh), Ascension helping with the bosses. There seems to be a cap on experience gained. You're getting 22K because it's split evenly among the 3 party members. Use Monopolize on the character who you want to receive the entire experience pool to have them get all 65K. Monopolize Death is also the way you avoid experience gain in boss battles, keeping Ryu and everyone else very low-levelled.
