As soon as the raptor won the 2nd race to be the fastest Ute, I instantly questioned how it would go against a trx, and low and behold, you lads had it in the video as well 👏

@@titanx04 ausmv convert raptors here so they should of included it as well. There was a few f150 saleens converted here around 15yrs ago those things are absolute beasts!

this happens to be the biggest drag race we ever seen (well at least not the biggest one but it's closer enough) and well done to the team as well

@@unknown-ts6oo yes, we are only just getting the F150 back again now in 2023. It’s not been here (in Australia) for a while - 16 years. They have to be converted to right-hand drive as Ford America don’t manufacturer them for RHD markets.

Paul's jolly attitude is contagious.. Love this dude.

Awesome video Paul!! I Was about to comment where was the trx but then it appeared. The trx needs to be brake boosted cause launch control doesn't work properly and it needs to be in baja mode for quickest acceleration. I've seen videos of the trx pulling 3.5seconds 0-100.

This was so FUN! And complete, with the addition of the timing table at the end.

Incredible work guys! The Ranger Raptor is absolutely amazing! Still the best in its class! Comparing it to the RAM TRX was a little unfair as the real competitor to that is the F150 Raptor with 700HP as well. So coming away from it all the Ranger Raptor beat its real competition and can be very proud! I love it!

I don't understand how u think its unfair. Putting a raptor which is twin turbo and light than a ram and silverado. And they are naturally aspirated. I think that's unfair.

That’s a big question I was asking. The mix of 1/2 ton vs~1/3 ton trucks is pretty big. I know the midsize trucks are getting bigger and the full-size are getting even bigger, but your comparison spread across almost 600hp and awd optional

Bad ass video! Love the content!! Man that Ranger Raptor is impressive, which I’m not surprised but it’s amazing to see how well it did against the TRX.

That was friggin awesome bloke... :) And the edit was spot on. Congrats to the editing team... you got me sold :) Raptor in Thailand in October here we come :)

I’d go for the revised 2023 Silverado when they turn up and when the warranty expires pop a mild boost on it up to the 500hp mark, some better shocks, a mild brake upgrade and leave it there.

Love this and all your Ute reviews in particular- Would love to see a review of any of the Mahindra ute range!

Good onya mate, back in the 90s early 2000s I had a 96 VS Commodore Ute it use to fly too, now I drive a 2022 Ssangyong Rexton Ult but I’m content in my old age😂

Isuzu stood up to be the fastest diesel engine both in Thailand and Ph. With proper tuning it'll beat most of its competitors since their engines are detuned for practicality.

0:28 Wooooooooooow gotta love seeing our South African number plate in ur vid. Of course it had to coz we building it right here 15km from my house, Pretoria, South Africa. Last month was doing a consulting job in a company situated in Johannesburg East that supplies Ford with steel plates to produce Amarok, Ranger, Navara and NP200

Would be good to see an off road race for the utes!

Would have been interesting to have the old model Amarok V6 included. Going by one of your previous videos against the V6 Ranger Wildtrak, the Walkinshaw 580S would have ended up around 5th or maybe close to the Ram 1500 Laramie? But the V6 Raptor is definitely punching above it weight against the trucks from the USA!👌😀

The V6 Raptor is so good because it’s a petrol not a diesel. And the V6 Raptor IS essentially a “truck” from the USA.

Was surprised by the Silverado outrunning the smaller utes and e-torque Ram and also surprised by the Tritons performance. The Ram I thought would do well cause of it having e-torque

The Silverado uses the truck version of the LS small block called the L87. LS engines are famous for their fat flat torque that let's them punch above their weight. 90% of its torque is available at 2,000rpm and stays above 90% peak torque all the way to 5,000rpm

As you said the Musso may have got a bad start. Usually around 10.5s 0-100 which would make it the fastest 4 cyl in this test surprisingly so perhaps they all struggled a bit in the conditions.

Nice truck line up.

You guys forgot all about the VW Amarok 2023 I would love to see it compete against all the pickup trucks... I'll be waiting for the next video 😜

have a look at some diesel tuning videos which exposed the factory at wheel power and torque of many utes. Navara is absolutely pathetic. Nissan either has transmission efficiency stuck in the 80s or just purely BSed about the figure

Ranger Wildtrak is the first diesel home so for most people that is the one that matters in the race to the pub after work.

Good video. Interesting would be ranger raptor vs f150 v6 raptor. Please bring it on.

The 4jj3 is probably the most underrated engine in its class. It basically eats every other 4 cylinder diesels and almost on par with the Ford v6 diesel. On a factory tune which we know is always for durability instead of power. The Dmax & bt50 are slighter lighter than every other ute tho.

Enjoyed the video however I think it would be more interesting if you guys used the same drivetrain settings for all cars

So the Ram isn't a hybrid. The e-torque is actually a replacement for the alternator. It uses an electric alternative system for charging the battery to delete having a belt hooked to the engine to not take away power from the motor to drive the belt. It doesn't add any power but loses a little less through the drive train as a result

Why is the Triton the only one racing with a bullbar? Wouldn't that effect the weight and drag?

That was brilliant. Pointless yes as you said but damn it was fun to watch.

Should have put the GWM in sports mode. Would have been much faster to take off

Car Expert presents the tow truck, wrecking yard and petrol station challenge! Which one is easiest to load, how many times did you have to go to the servo, how many pies and shit pairs of sunnies did you buy!!

My mechanic services a V6 diesel 2019 Amarok that's been tuned to 1000nm, would've loved to have seen it in this mix to see how it went

Pretty damn impressed with that Raptor!! I have ordered one in code orange, due for delivery in July, and I'm genuinely surprised at how well it performed against the TRX, considering the $150k price difference, but I'm also not surprised that the Raptor wiped the floor with everything else, including the prehistoric Toyota Hilux.... Thanks Paul (also, your reviews are one of the main reason I went with the Raptor ;)

The Ranger Raptor seems excellent city and weekend ute, and I like the concept a lot, would be happy to have one. The Hilux Rogue is pretty much a workhorse with a nice bridle, a polished saddle and some chrome horse shoes, I don’t really understand why people would buy one.

The "Ranger" Raptor cannot not really be called a "Raptor". They're 2 completely different vehicles.

I'm about to get a pickup truck to use for both family (comfort + long journey) and construction sites. Hilux is said to be the best for construction, but I'm searching for something comfortable and reliable. Are there any suggestions? My options include the Hilux, Triton Athlete, D'Max X-Terrain, and Ford Wildtrak.

The rapror r does exist and it beats the trx by a smidge but it is also on 2 inch larger tires stock so 35s would make it a clear winner. Anyway fun race!

Should do it again with 2.5T Caravan on the back, that would be interesting. Maybe also include the 2500's

Considering you can get F150 and Toyota Tundra here via quality conversion companies it would of been good to have those included as well. There are a heap of tundras here with factory superchargers with a 0-100 that would challenge the TRX.

The triton appears light on paper and sprcs but a beast on road. I was impressed

Would of been interesting a few more of the 450-600 nm power wise agaist reach other, was good seeing the hilux get beaten by the bt50
