Here's the video breaking down how the reactor works: • I turn Plastics into F...
I believe with the world wide crisis we are facing now, we require a world wide solution. And this is why I believe we need decentralized devices such as this Reactor. Think about it, even if there is just 1 reactor in every community, that will put a huge dent in plastic waste and pollution.
Due to this, I do not wish to make a singular specialized Reactor, once I master and complete this one, I want to make all different types, of all different scales and sizes.

You're going to have to activate each magnetron sequentially, one at a time. The peak draw is killing the generator

Why a microwave?? Microwave dinners go packed in plastic inside microwaves.. How is that going to be efficient to melt plastic???

I do remember now that he adds carbon for the microwaves to interact with the plastics but still.. Seems like there would be terrible hotspots everywhere which might account for the low yields.. If you're going to "re-distill" stuff your gonna want to have fine-grained control over the temperature or you'll end up with polymerized crap/ a lot of carbon for your next run..

Saw him talk about the amount of kw/h it takes too in a video were a girl was driving on his plasti-diesel. I'd run it off the produced gas or something.. there's already energy inside.. All these "green" efforts that take a ton of energy input make zero sense to me.. I do agree that having tons of plastic laying around everywhere doesn't make a lot of sense either but simply fractionally distilling it and catching clean fractions which can be used as normal (thinner etc) makes more sense. Gasoline is just a combination of those products too..

You should get the gas analysed to have an idea of what you are getting from it. A quick search led me to a paper titled "Gaseous products from primary reactions of fast plastic pyrolysis" which states: "The main gaseous compounds from LDPE were butane, 1-pentane and 1-hexene. PP pyrolysis gave propene, pentane and 2,4-dimethyl-1-heptene as the main gaseous compounds. Styrene monomer was the dominant gas from PS." So, you are probably getting a hell of a mix into your genny, which it's probably not tuned to take and may be the source of the knocking.

Hexane, Butane, methane from some organic carbon. The catalysts make a big impact on the product. His best bet is to experiment and look into past research to figure out which catalyst will produce the most usable form of gas for the generator to run off of. The catalyst for optimal liquid fuel production differs between plastic source material. 🤓👌

you would want to adjust the air/fuel mixture, you might also need to get a really high end spark plug that gives a really healthy spark, most spark plugs are designed for the explosivness of gas/propane. I feel the spark will make the biggest difference,. This will increase power consumption.

have you got the reactor chamber tuned? if you have destructive phase alignment between the magnotron outputs, you may be reducing your power output. if you have them all phase aligned then all the devices run in convergance. also the dimensions of your chamber is important. The microwave enclosure size is tuned to the wavelength of the microwaves. the dimensions of your chamber, and the positioning of the magnotrons really matters. Love your work brother. and I *think* if you were to add an air passthrough to the loading mechanism, it would work, the problem was that it resealed the vaccum with the particles, but if there was a small airway for air to enter or exit (inside of the chamber) to the top of the plastic container. Essentially just put a straw on the inside of the tube to keep it from resealing the vaccum. Checks out in my head atleast.

I encourage you to look into ways to purify your yields so that you don’t have the impurities that is choking up your generator which will destroy it sooner than later with all the build up. Also instead of moving the material down a straight line what about like a tumbling motion like a dryer barrel. That will decrease the amount of magnetrons needed.

The Engine will require alot more air to run a decent AFR for on the Syngas 14.7:1 on gasoline closer to 1:1 on wood syngas i imagine your plastic syngas uncracked would be better than organic feedstocks. You also need a filter for the gas going into the engine, Activated carbon or gaswash type system even both depending on tar content. I have worked for a company that has been trying to crack the commercial pyrolysis market for the last 15years you microwave approach is interesting but ide like to see a proper enegry mass balance on your setup. Please be mindful of your health when working with this machine, Benezne carbon monoxide etc. Are terrible for your health and trust me oxygen ingress into the reactor especially the cooler zones can make some pretty big bangs. Keep up the good work great content 👏

A,so the majority of microplastics are not recoverable. I find your journey noble but your paying well more than your making. Also are you measuring off gasing and environmental impact. Heating or burning plastic eats the ozone. If you don't take the proper precautions the EPA will find and shut you down with possible jail time. I'm saying this for your benafit.

Plastics were extracted from oil so they are already fuel but your contraption will never be efficient enough. And one more important note is that it's highly toxic for the enviroment as the toxin come into the fuel itself.

You need fuel injection. You can't run the engine efficiently like gasoline.
