BIGGEST flower in the world: Rafflesia arnoldii

Rafflesia arnoldii is the biggest flower in the world - with a diameter of one meter (3 feet)!
It grows only in the jungles of Sumatra, Indonesia, and each flower lasts for just a few days before withering and dying.
Known locally as Kerubut (Devil's Betelnut Box), very few people have ever seen a fully developed Rafflesia arnoldii bloom.
Explorer Stewart McPherson set out to find the illusive giant Raflessia bloom, and after an extensive search, came across a gigantic Rafflesia arnoldi flower.

I remember when I was in elementary school first learning about rainforests for fun and I saw a Rafflesia flower in the book. It was one of the first things that got me interested in rainforests. Not only is it the world's biggest flower, but it also happens to be super weird. Like, the blue whale may be the biggest whale, but it's pretty boring compared to a lot of whales. Meanwhile Rafflesia plants are cool and weird- they are pollinated by flies which is weird, they are parasitic which is weird, etc. They are just cool

As with Rafflesia arnoldii, some exotic-looking mushrooms such as Clathrus ruber do have the same orange-red color and fleshy consistency and foremost they also emanate the same foul odor typical of decaying flesh. At the chemical level they all probably all contain Putrescine and Cadaverine, two main compounds found in the decomposition of amino acids in dead organisms. Rafflesia Arnoldii uses its foul odor to attract flies, responsible for its pollination and the perpetuation of its life cycle.

When you get them in animal crossing, it’s impossible to remove it manually. You have to pluck out ALL the weeds in your town and then the flower will wilt the next day. This was implemented to discourage time traveling.
