Imagine this type of light show coupled with a fleet of drones that carry fireworks, ignite them, and then drop them. Fully automated with the ability to return to the ground to retrieve more charges to be dropped.

This is an incredibly difficult challenge from multiple standpoints, but imagine if you could send a fleet of drones like this to search disaster areas, analyze the structural integrity of bridges & buildings, oversee crop health along with other agricultural purposes, scan coasts for pollution, as well as use in cities to determine more accurate air quality. Those are just what I could think of right now.

This proved to me that the holographic projection problem has just been solved. For decades solutions have been seeked in the domain of optics, but something completely satisfactory has never been found. Drones have bridged the gap. The challenge now is decreasing their scale to increase the resolution. Huge achievement!!!!!

Im not saying it exactly looks like one 😑 Im saying that when the drones are in the night sky, its looks colourful like nebulas. So im not saying they exactly look like nebulas.

Super cool. The precision and control to put on such a display is amazing. Winds can blow the drones around so it must very powerful stability sensor.

Drone theatre is going to be lit. Imagine we can project a movie on top of a mountain or at the Grand Canyon with everyone watching it over the canyon.

Yeah, short movies come first, because of batteries problems.

Needs at least a third more reaction shots, rather than just showing the amazing drone art. Well done, Guinness.

This is much closer to holographic technology than anything we’ve seen yet. People comparing this to Far From Home are missing the fact those drones were projecting an image/animation onto practically nothing, meanwhile if you had a thousand of tiny drones like these making up the 3-D image itself you’d pretty much have a proper hologram.

Interesting point! Each drone is theoretically a pixel in the sky. With miniaturization and further advancements, these things could be grouped much tighter in proximity for higher resolutions.
